hello guys.
Im thinking about upgrading my audio system.
I have Logic7 and want to upgrade to Individual.
I cannot find any info on wiring differences between the systems.
Can anybody tell me is it enough to swap the speakers and the amp and give it better ground and power wires?
Or all the wires are thicker?

Hey guys,

I have an e93 with Logic7 and i-Drive. I feel that it is lacking bass significantly. What options do I have? I've heard about upgrading the under seat subs but I think that they will still be too small.

MB Quart has a full kit with a set of speakers - 8" + 4" + tweeter. Not too expensive either. Very good option.

Just wanted to document this subwoofer option from JL Audio:
http://www.jlaudio.com/sb-b-3ser-cpe...ealthbox-94283

The stealthbox incorporates 2 of JL's thin 13" subs. The advantage is that it doesn't take much space from the trunk while providing lots of cone area. Its expensive, but I have seen it on sale at an authorized dealer for 40% off.

As the Blaupunkt THA-555 has long been discontinued, are there any other PnP options available for base stereo systems which work with the standard speakers?

I'm struggling to find any...!

"the standard speakers" is the kink here. If you have HiFi, you have a few options. If you have base Stereo, your speakers suck so much ass, you have to replace them.

If you have HiFi, we have a DSP processor PnP amp available. If you have Base Stereo, you dont' have any tweeters, and you have 6" mids in the 8" woofer enclosures.

So, what do you have?

Going to take a stab here, but looking through his post history (He installed the tweeters in the doors somewhat recently), he has the base system.

Honestly, if you care about music at all, you'll want to get with VP Electricity and get his level 1 kit at least. Replaces all your speakers and includes an amp and JL Cleansweep. It's not under $1000 for the replacement, but honestly for the price of what the upgraded audio system would be from factory, his level 1 will most likely outperform it for less $$.

Thanks guys, I do indeed have the base system (albeit with tweeters now installed) - I'm from the UK so cannot take advantage of your suggestion, I was basically just looking for something quite cheap but easy to install to give a bit more power for now!

Oh, in that case, you might have an easier time than us here in the U.S. with getting Jehnert. Maybe their Flatline kit?

Though part of the problem you'll have is flattening the base audio's EQ curve, so maybe get JL's cleansweep and a decent amp and you should be good to go.

I should need to Recode my head unit?

Hi!

I've a 05 330i E90.
I would like to upgrade my to front door speakers. This quality it's a shame from BMW.. even if I've just a basic 6 speakers system. But I'm not sure is it need to recoding or not my head unit? It's a professional but the old one with 4x15W

The speakers what I want to fit it :
http://caraudiosecurity.com/mb-quart...w-1-3-5-series

The Sound deadening:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tchlink:top:en

BUT, I not really want to cut the original connector.
Is there any plug&play solution for this speakers?

Any advice will be much appreciate.

If you want local or I guess relatively local help

If you want local or I guess relatively

Speakers on the base system alone will not help and it even may be worse.

You can get factory connectors.

Also you can pull the crimp connectors right off the speakers and if the spade
terminal is the same size it should slide right on.

What's so hard about getting Jehnert here? Don is the distributor.

Don't get me wrong, Don's great.

He is still the single source for the U.S. though (far as I know)
Which makes it so that I can't just go in to a run of the mill stereo shop and give them a listen unlike a bazillion other brands that are a bit more commonly found such as Focals, Morels, MBQuart, etc and so on.

I'm getting them myself, and mostly because I've looked/read/researched long enough that I trust what people like you, Don, Ken at MusicarNW, CTuna, etc. have said and recommend. However, to most people that pass through these boards, it's probably a lot harder to tell them to get Jehnerts when in all likelyhood, they've probably never even heard of them.

Through experience, I know I can't depend on just one person for items. Just in these past 2 months;
1) Can't get a Technic harness due to backorder. Would be nice to have another source for that.
2) Can't really get a hold of Ken at MusicarNW very easily. They're probably a victim of their own success. I'm sure what with the recent move, the personal life and how busy I'm sure they are, getting in touch with them can be sporadic at best.

I don't fault any of them for being busy or out of stock. But a single point of entry does entail some difficulties for us (at times). Just reality creeping in.

I get where you're coming from. Makes sense. I know getting a technic harness can be a hassle. It's held up some of our installs. It's true you can't audition them like most brands and that's a hassle as well. In don's defense, though, Jehnert only feels comfortable selling through just him.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about "Don's defense". He has, in all actuality one of the easiest to work with. Been really thankful for that, and that's one of the reasons I chose to go with the Jehnert Door Boards. This install might likely be more expensive than I originally wanted to spend, but someone that was as easy to work with as Don makes me feel that much more comfortable to send the $$ that way.

I'm generally a pretty realistic person. I realize that things happen, people are busy, people run out of stock, etc. What I do keep in mind, is that the average joe probably doesn't ever think of these things and will most likely find some frustration in any of those types of scenarios I've mentioned before. And if I'm not mistaken, I think most of us BMW owners generally already have a stereotypically 'difficult to please' label on us already
