Who knew??? STAGG SHS shocks/struts eBay

Yup I did it....after much consideration, debate and research I pulled the trigger on these and installed them today. I needed a suspension refresh but did not want to pay a lot, and Bilstien seems to be on limited supply right now.

The story is...about 20 months ago I put Eibach Sport lowering springs on my stock shocks/struts (2011 E91 328 with 74,000m). Well they finally started to break down. I knew I would have to replace eventually. Today was the day to replace them (current mileage 84,500).

The price was almost to low, 150.00 including shipping. I did a lot of reading on them and of the reviews. And it wasn’t all that bad. So I figured what the hell. I received the items qwik and they looked great. Install was smooth and fitment was perfect. Took about 3hours.

As for the ride...I’ve only driven about 10 miles but I do feel a major difference. Car feels tighter, bumps are fine (I had some slight rubbing before), and ride height is a tad higher but not much (which is fine by me). So all in all I am happy. We shall see how they do over time. I live in South Florida so it’s pretty flat and straight everywhere, that also factored into my decision. I will do an update after I put on more miles.

Hopefully this helps anyone looking at or considering STAGG SHS shock/strut combo.

Drove about 50 miles today, and on some roads that gave me issues before with rubbing. Problem gone. I was happy with over all performance of these shocks/struts combined with the Eibach springs. Now for the long haul. Time will tell.

Yea, never knew about these. Interesting! Appreciate the awareness and a write up. Be good to hear how long they last for you.

Also, for others interested in budget shocks/struts it is possible to get 4 Bilstein B4 units on Rockauto for about $275 shipped.

True, it was a bit of a gamble. So like you said, we shall see how they last. I will update as needed. Living here in Florida, and it’s not a DD hopefully they hold up.
