Catless fuel smell on highway?

When I first got a catless system earlier this year, it never smelled on the highway. Now, even going at 90mph, I can smell the catless system.

Could it be am exhaust leak? Only occurs with windows down. With windows up and AC there is no smell.

I'm catless and I only can smell it when I'm idling and the wind is blowing the fumes towards me. Driving around town or on the highway, there's no odor at all.

It's real annoying to me. I'm actually thinking about putting my stock Rear cats back on because of the smell.

Some cars run cleaner than others. If the turbos are starting to go bad they'll put a little oil in the exhaust which adds extra stink to the exhaust.
Aftermarket downpipes are tricky to install and seal at the turbo. If you've installed DP's and the V-band clamp didn't clamp down all the way (needed a longer bolt to fit?) then there could be a gap that lets exhaust out.

I don't mind the smell but i've never had a cloud of smoke. That's just terrible. I would throw some high flow cats on if it smells or smokes bad.

That's really interesting. I would imagine you do have a leak somewhere. There's no way you can smell the exhaust going 80 if everything is buttoned up and the exhaust gasses are only coming from the tailpipe.

Thats what i thought also the smell shld be left behind but the way the air flows off our cars it brings it back somehow. I had no leaks but still smelled the fumes.
