Bumper screws... WFT???

So... My new splitter is on, at least its stuck on at the top with 3M and I'm yet to manage to get any of the 4 screws (2 each side) back in to the underside which goes through the holes in the base of the splitters and back in where they came from...

Does anyone know if there is something the other side of the bumper that the screw should attach to? the way it feels is like there is nothing to bite into so they just fall out

Stupid problem... easy fix?

Is it the three hex headed screws that hold the front of the undertray?
If so they are held by threaded metal clips, you may need longer screws.
