Hope the "talk" of a sunroof delete is more than just talk. I don't see it anywhere on the options list. Wouldn't a sunroof delete be listed as a no cost option if it was available?
how would the overboost work? is there like a switch to turn it on or off when you want it?

I was looking at the pricing pdf for the 3 series and there are 2 premium packages and there is one with the moonroof and one without so im not sure. How much can the moonroof weigh anyways? i've always like it but seems like all the enthusiast want a delete option.

Weight of the sunroof is a factor. A delete would save about 50lbs off the top of the car, lowering it's center of gravity. For me though, it's more about picking up the addidtional headroom. Those couple extra inches make all the difference fitting a helmet in for DEs. With the overboost, there's no manual switch. I think it's tied to the throttle position sensor. If your below 4,500 rpm and rapidly depress the throttle, that's problably when you get the overboost.

It's actually about 30 pounds, according to BMW. But yeah, the extra couple inches make it worth it too.

Nice to see the car without the sunroof; direct factory weight savings FTW-

will the new headlights fit in the 07 to 10 335i? I worried about people stealing them and putting it on the previous models.

Pricing question:

Would the wholesale pricing be the closest thing to invoice, or is the whole sale pricing the invice pricing?

Thanks,

Most turbocharged engines have a thing called a wastegate after the turbo. The wastegate is a dump valve which bleeds off overpressure in the intake system. In modern cars it is usually under computer control. The overboost feature will likley also be under the control of the engine management system. It will allow the wastegate to open at the higher pressure for however many seconds it is set for, then revert to normal pressure. This feature will proably work only at or near full throttle. You need do nothing other than put your foot all the way down.

I've had this for like 5 days and I completely spaced on putting it up here; it would have cleared up a bunch of early speculation! My apologies.

I've attached it, take a look.
Intersting. On page 9, under active safety, this product bulletin says that the car has an "electronic limited slip differential"???

Can it be? Or does it just have that system which torque vectors by selectively applying the brake on one side of an open differential? If so this is pretty misleading. When it comes to putting power down coming out of a corner such a system is not an LSD.

It is mostly likely to have the same diff as the normal 335i. I highly doubt they put a LSD in this car.

This is the what I would believe too. I know Porsche's turbo gets overboost when and only when the go pedal is floored and then for 10 seconds. Although overall hp does not rise with over-boost it is very likely that the mid-range hp (not only torque) rises as well. Over-boost for FI engines is a great way for manufacturers to get quick spurts of additional power without exceeding reliability.

Few more thoughts after mulling this over for a few weeks now.

First, wow, Joe & team did an incredible job with this. I always liked the E46 ZHP, but the 335is is at a different level. The styling is sublime -- chrome tinged kidneys match ferric 313s and glacier trim. Ditto for gloss black bits. And the shape of the bumpers is perfect.

Regrets? Of course we are greedy and always want more. LSD. EDC option. Performance seats. And give us this package in the E90 & E91. Makes more sense than the E90 M3.

Kudos also to Bryan @ Kilo. The standout coverage of the 335is. Best writing and coolest photo (the AW).

i see they are using this "other" type of pedal overlays in the ZSP. Not sure I like them together with the Mfoot rest but on their own they are pretty tasteful and sturdy looking.

the 313 rims are just never beefy enough in my view, this car wants chunky looking rims...
