Ampire - https://www.ampire.de/
A list of BMW-specific products can be found here: https://www.ampire.de/speakers_bmw.h...atalog&p=29166 They sell the drivers and accessories by themselves or as part as kits. They have component kits in different sizes (4", 5.25", 6") and both 2-way and 3-way kits. I will give direct links to a few so you can get a quick idea. Based on install depth they are compatible with E92/E93 models. The kits are pretty much drop-in replacements and come with adapters where necessary. BMW-CS1 - 4", 2-way component set for BMW https://www.ampire.de/Loudspeakers/C...MW-CS1&p=11308 Manual: points to S1 manual, see below. BMW-S1 - 3-way component set for BMW, 200W https://www.ampire.de/Loudspeakers/V...BMW-S1&p=29166 Manual: https://pdf.ampire.de/ampire/BMW_S1_Owners_Manual.pdf BMW-S2 - 3-way component set for BMW, 300W @ 2 Ohm https://www.ampire.de/Loudspeakers/V...BMW-S2&p=29166 Manual: points to S1 manual, see above Looking at 8" underseat replacements, they have 2 different versions: BMW-W1 - 100W RMS, 200W peak https://www.ampire.de/Loudspeakers/V...BMW-W1&p=29166 BMW-W2 - 150W RMS, 300W peak https://www.ampire.de/Loudspeakers/V...BMW-W2&p=29166 |

Kaleco Audio
Well I'm happy to announce the hunt is over. Finally we have a perfect kit that is compatible with every BMW model and delivers ultimate performance. It's not the cheapest, and it's not quite a drop-in replacement, but if you're willing to put in a tiny DIY effort then you will be rewarded with absolutely divine sound in all conditions. I've been reading through all of the E9x stereo upgrade threads and it seems like the recommended underseat upgrade (kicker) is no longer made.
So what is the recommended speakers to go with (I have an 08 E92 M3 coupe with top hifi/personal audio). |

It depends if you're looking for mid-bass or for more of a subwoofer role.
In the mid-bass role Jehnerts have a fair few people loving them and tends to be a go-to recommendation these days. In the subwoofer role it's pretty much always the Earthquake SWS-8 that is used. |

I was looking at Gladen but can't find many reviews on them. Are the Jehnerts (all around) the best upgrade? |

The absolute best option is the one that best fits in your setup based on frequency response, crossovers, power rating, ...there is no end to the amount of analysis you can go into. Unless you're willing to pour over frequency response charts, you'll be hard pressed to find an absolute perfect match. Jehnerts are a very safe bet that have received the thumbs up many times, including professional installers.

The trouble is there is no easy way to compare
because these are rare and some of the options that are actually designed to fit and work in these cars cannot actually be found in local shops and sampled. There have been few cases where the members here told people what works and what would be effective but they ended up doing the experiment all over again and going through several sets of speakers before reaching the same conclusions. I wouldn't call that cost effective. |

Funny you should say that
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...5#post20808125 I was going to post this here but this way people can discuss these articles without polluting the speaker reference thread. |

German Maestro - http://www.german-maestro.de/
Another German company, and another supporting member of IASCA. The best thing is to go straight to the catalog and browse through it. Right at the end you will find a table of installation widths and depths. There are some interesting products but there is no way to highlight any due to their dislike of standard dimensions. Expect 3,78" midrange drivers, 0.8" tweeters etc. The measurements are highly detailed which is good, and there are definitely some speakers for enclosure that are on the shallow end. Im looking to replace a blow 4" rear speakers in my e93. The previous owner installed some cheesy speakers and hacked it up where the rear panel dint fully click in because the speaker was too big and pressed against the padding in the quarter panel. Im looking to get a decent set that I wont have an issue with. I read that with the e93 50mm would work but the ones is have are 45mm and hit. Im looking for a good option just for mids that will fit. Open to advise. Thanks!

Morels , I have heard good things about Jehnert and Gladen,
followed by diamond audio and audio systems. I know 6spcoupe likes the Jehnert doors over the Morels(and he has the best known BMW stereo shop on the east coast. at least I think he said that once anyway . Hard to compare this stuff when it's pretty much not on the shelf anywhere. The Jehnert xe 200 underseats are a real audiophile speaker don't know about there doors. |

Problem is that fitting Morels in the e92 door can be pain. And they are pricey. So I am going to give the BMW Individual speakers a try. |

Just a note to those considering installing the Focal IFBMW-S into an E92/93.
IT DOES NOT FIT! It will interfere with the window operation. The Focal IFBMW-S is only suitable for the E90/E91 which obviously have a different door/window design. Last edited by scanspeak; 02-15-2018 at 02:17 AM.. |

I'm just doing some research on underseat upgrades, having not done enough before and been stung £750 by BMW for an installed Alpine upgrade (no coding either!). Fool me once...
Can't see the Rainbow IL-S8F mentioned here, but found a pair for £175 which looks like a good price - anyone got any experience with them? And would they be plug-and-play replacements for the now-amped crappy stock base system underseats I've got now? |
