Question on Status of my 335is

Hey guys,

So i finally checked where my car was in the production process and it now says production has ended, does anyone know how long it takes to get to the U.S?

My dealer said to expect the car the first week of September? From your experiences does it usually take a little longer that what your dealer tells you?

Thanks

From my order date at the dealer I got my car in exactly 6.5 weeks. Because I was tracking my car, it arrived at the dealer 1 week earlier than my anticipated paper signing date so I moved everything up. It depends what boat it gets on. It is about a 1-2 week lag time from production end to even boarding a boat IIRC. Then a few days on the boat and sitting at the NJ port. Add a day or so to get down to Florida.

Here's what happens next. Once the car is done it goes to the port in Bremerhaven where it waits in line until a space on a ship opens. Then on the water for a week or so until it reaches the US port. It gets off loaded, goes to the local performance center for detailing and is then shipped to your dealer. expect it to take about 2-3 weeks.

My Boss got his 535i built, shipped, and delivered in 7 weeks. It won't be too long!

I know you are anxious to get your car but nothing you can do will get it to your dealer any faster. You can keep calling your CA but all it's going to do is increase your anxiety.

My story is my car came in about 1 week before I was scheduled to pick it up which coincided with the end of the lease on my previous 3 series. It was sitting on my dealer's lot and I could go see it but couldn't take it home. Talk about frustration. At least I still had my 2008 e90 which helped immensely.
