I think most people would go for the 997 Turbo if the prices were similar ( i know i would ) but at the end of the day the Gt-R looks a bargain compared to the opposition.

The other argument is that the turbo comes with only a 2 year warranty which considering how much more the car cost in the uk compared to North America is a joke!
Oh and in the USA they provide a 4 year warranty just to rub it in on all new Porsche's.

I've been dithering about ditching the Gt-R and go for an R8 or back into a 997GT3 but the fact remains for the money of the GT-R i would need to buy a 3 year old vehicle which will cost more in warranty and servicing against a brand new GT-R which will have the added benefit of being the daddy

I've gone for a Red one

Thats great but you wont be getting a car until 2010!!!!!!

My thought process was i wanted a Black Black edition, but the majority of orders are for Black so itll be more common and also i f**king hate swirl marks Then i saw DMG and it looked mega. However i thought it was a bit safe. Then i ended up coming to the conclusion that the red shows off the cars futuristic lines better than any other colour.

Marlie
I think the lottery is only for the first orders (2nd-6th April) Something like 700 orders went in for a 400 allocation of cars so those will be accounted for first anyone ordering after 6th will have to wait until after the first quota have been received which will probably take you into mid 2010
The GTR Web site now only quotes price including Sat Nav so that must mean that all the first six Months cars are accounted for.
Delivery Dates should be given before end of May for all those that have already parted with there £3.5K

Steve, I love the Nissan in Red it would be my colour choice as well. If you are going to buy a hot car like this it deserves to be in a sporty colour.

Don't bottle it and buy it in silver or black - RED is perfect.

Steve,

Im absolutely sure it's worth the wait. Mind you, having 18 months+ to endure before the GTR arrives is time enough to acquire another motor of choice and get bored before delivery of the GTR

Maybe I'm a sadist but I quite like anxiety of waiting for a new car. Obviously nothing beats the day you pick the car up from the dealer and the first few week of ownership but it's always slightly downhill from there IMO

Then say 6 months later the cyle begins again.......what what I get next? slowly turns into I want one of those next.

Mind you after a GTR.......not sure "that next car" has even been designed yet.

PhilR

Hang in there.........
