Anyone recently bought out their lease?

Thinking of it. The car is so good and the residual is stellar (cos I do good leases )

It used to be that the dealers could get a break on the residual to make a bit of money turning it around to CPO the car.

Has anybody got a deal recently from a dealer buying out their lease?

I'm looking to either:

1. Have a dealer CPO the car and sell it to me.

2. Buy it direct from BMWFS and buy a BMW extended coverage plan.

If I do #1, I want to know if the dealer gets a break on the residual. It's a simple question to which nobody seems to have an answer.

I was interested in buying my 335xi last year. The residual was 31k. I got quotes from 3 dealers to buy out my lease and the quotes I got were much lower than the residual. The lowest was $27k.

You can't buy from BMWFS directly anymore. They will tell you to talk to dealers. You can buy an extended warranty too but I didnt get that far.

I ended up leasing a 335d, but in hindsight I loved my xi so much I should have bought it for 27k with extended warranty.

Good luck, just tell dealers to give you a quote and provide the VIN to them.

Cheers

You can buy your leased car directly from BMWFS for the contracted residual price. What they wont do now is negotiiate a lower buyout price with you. You have to go to a dealer to do that.
