I spoke to Advan not too long ago, as my DCT has a slow weep around the oil pan.
They were literally doing one as I was speaking to them.
They quoted me between $850 - $900 to supply, fit all parts and fluid.
Other workshops quoted $1200 - $1500.

Depends what they are doing. There are two cover seals that leak on these transmissions. The lower one is easy to do but the side one requires removal of the transmission.

Some workshops will just capture and reuse the old oil unless you ask for new oil. They will then just top up what is necessary

Yeah. Those price I was quoted was for the work on the bottom pan only, not the side one. But that price also included all fluid as well.

Any m3 software can indeed be flashed on a 335 but isn't advisable and this has now been confirmed on another forum

The issue is that the shifter or GWS module is different. This means that if someone is able to merge the m3 and 335i software we could in theory have adjustable launch control and 90 msec shifts from the m3gts.

I'd be happy if i could get mine to downshift as reliably as an M3, as in quick paddle response, and actual engine braking. GTS software or not. Just something that works. Not paddle down, wait two seconds for it to re-engage gear/clutch. By then, the corner is over! Could this be something to do with the heavy flywheel?

I'll look into that when my either my engine rear seal or the DCT output seal becomes a bigger leak.

@Aus335iguy flashed my car with the 135is flash last week for me (thanks again mate) and I've noticed much better shift responses on both up and down.

The 135IS flash feels a but odd to me in sport mode, its ridiculous how fast it is but it feels awkward and unless going 100%wot it doesn't pop and fart anymore. I used to drive everywhere in sport but hardly use it now as the normal mode still feels like a dct.

It was nice to meet you mate. If you hate your tyres try the launch control. I can't imagine what it'll be like with the amount of power you have

So it's shifting better at WOT now?

Time for a re-race?

Man you really need to buy a computer and get the software, it's so much easier to look after these cars with it.

Buy a cheap pc off eBay and a cable and get it all set up. That way if you get stuck you can always have someone remote in and help you. It's a lot quicker than towing lol!

That said I'll be in the Gong sooner or later ...probably week after next and I'll sort it out for you.

Can you do it for N55 DCT's as well?

Have sent some initial logs to Trebila, the dutycycle is still no where as clean as yours on the upshifts... he's saying I need to lower the boost as something's interfering on the DME side.

Interested to see how it goes under full load side by side with you again though mate.

Is RR still going?

Mine makes less pops with the 135is software. Having said that, it never reliably popped anyway.. whenever it did pop or fart it was amazing though. I still have the pause between 1-2, which feels like the clutch isnt engaging smoothly because the traction control light comes on - perhaps it is the traction control cutting power, exacerbating the pause feeling.

Mine is an N55 so yes, it works on N55 models
