BMW E9x Front Axle Removal DIY

So while I was trying to do some troubleshooting, I ended up doing a video of the front axle removal on my car. Hope this helps someone.

Did you replace them with new or remanufactured axles and what brand did you go with?

Own fault there. Get yourself a used oem axle with low mileage if you want to replace.

Cardone remans OEM axles.

It's known that aftermarket boots are sub-par quality and tear within miles of install. However the bearings are fine.

What you do is get the reman'd Cardone axle ($65 after core refund on RockAuto) and reboot the axle with OEM boots (about $55 per kit).

While the axle is out, you should also replace the diff seal. It's only $10 or so.

How did you get the new axle back in the front differential?

Once you align the splines you just hammer on the end. Make sure the nut is on the end of the axle where you hammer to not damage the threads.
