If you're under warranty the dealership will replace your blades for free if you tell them about the streaks

He drives an 06 330 and joined this month, I would think his wipers are old.

I can't believe there was a thread made about this...
On second thought, I can't believe I am posting in it.

I can give another reason for poor performance of the wipers....it had me baffled on my Nissan (through the course of time, new windshields, new wipers, still doesn't work right). The wipers have a linkage where when worn, the arm cannot put the correct pressure on the glass. I kinda doubt it's the case on the '06 unless the OP lives in Seattle or something. BMW has TSBs about what angle the wiper should be wiping, that's how nuts the Germans are. To have the dealership perform the TSB out of warranty shouldn't be too bad, maybe $600-$700 LOL

You make it sound like your block is cracked or something terrible. Just change your wipers

Get OEM wipers, I believe they are Bosch Icons. They are expensive though, just got mine changed for about 80 bucks a pair.

Clean wiper blades with rubbing alcohol. Get a piece of towel paper, apply rubbing alcohol to it, wipe the blade. You will see black crap come off the blade. Repeat. If that doesn't work then buy new wiper/wiper blade .

Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Although I am not a big worrier, I am a little OCD myself, so I get it.

I even clean brand new blades with either rubbing alcohol or goo gone and then wipe them with water. It's amazing how much black gunk comes off fresh out of the box blades.

Personally, I'd change them with the OEM blades. You can get them for $45/pair through Tischer.
I've had mine on for over 2 years now, and they still work perfectly. No streaking or chattering, and cleans just like when new. Well worth the money in my opinion!
