This is also true, though "very high" is different for many folks. 50 to 60 is more like the limit.

If your transmission dies and the dealership knows you flashed your TCU, they will void the warranty.

Just because something is developed by BMW doesn't mean you can install it in your car and expect them to honor warranties.

Now, if you manage to get a BMW dealership to flash your TCU with the Alpina B3 firmware, and they state that you will maintain your warranty in the event of an issue, go for it.

Is there a way to get a hold of Alex, and can I flash my 328i? Im in LA also.

Hey guys, it just occurred to me that the Alpina B3 is based of the BMW F30 335i and I am guessing that this is where the code comes from. How safe is it then to flash an e90? The transmissions are completely different. It seems the flash hasn't been around too long... Could this cause problems later on?

Flashed it back. Love it! Even in D mode shifts are sweet. Car spends most of its time in 6th after 40 mph, so a sweet lil bump in gas mileage is a nice side effect.
Hello,

I was reading your post in the TCU thread earlier today where you said you hated it and the reasons you stated made me decide not to do it......now I see this post.

Guess I have to go do it now .

Yea, sorry for that. I was fearing it would influence folks negatively. The driving experience is much improved, once you retrain your throttle to shifting school of thought
As far as long term effects, the jury is still out on that one. So far no issues though, so I cannot speak to it either way.

There was an E90 Alpina B3 and this is where this flash is pulled from:

http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/en/models-alpina/historic-models/bmw-3-series/e90919293.html

I got the flash from Alex @ Alpine and he was awesome. He did a bunch of other euro option coding to my 2009 E90 remotely at the same time for the same low rate. Great guy and highly recommended!
