Hey guys, I noticed a severe colour loss on my driver side arm rest (That is leather yeah?)

Is this because of the dye coming off?
Any way to recover from this?

Replace it or dye it.

It is difficult for me to tell exactly what is going on in the picture, but I would start by deep cleaning it to see if it is something on the surface of the leather.

If not, the color is wearing off and a new top coat will need to be applied (re dye).

Would the 'deep clean' actually removes even more of the dye?

I ask this because I somehow started noticing it after I cleaned it using this nonsense Meguiar Leather polisher.

I can't say 100% if it's really due to the cleaner though...

If the color is failing, rubbing it with anything (even just a dry towel) will continue to remove the dye to some degree.

If you are certain the color is being removed, and there is not something that is simply on top of the leather, then the deep cleaning will not help. It may remove more of the dye, but at that point there isn't much to lose as the leather is already in need of repair.

There are plenty of DIY leather repair kits, and redying a small area is very simple. Check out some youtube videos.
