Got my New LUX H8 V4 - I had a problem! Fixed!
So I got my new LUX H8 V4 adjustable LEDs after having my left halos out for about 4 months. Just like everyone else's complaint - you need baby hands to do this job fast.
Before anyone rips me a new one about looking this up, I did my due diligence. I looked up everything I could from Friday night until Sunday night with the same outcome --- “ bulb is burnt out, replace.” This is not the case. I even swapped the old and new working LED to the left side and nothing. I checked the continuity of the wires and they are good. I am just not getting power to the yellow hot wire going to the plug terminal. On the working side I get about 3.78 volts. I called an indy shop and I asked them if it was possible that the computer would could have permanently turned off all power to the wire since the original might have had a short and that’s why it stopped working all together. He said that could be possible and to disconnect the battery for about an hour to see if it would reset. I did the 1 hour and still the same. No power. I tried again and disconnected it for over 3 hours and then drove it after I reconnected the battery for about 2 hours to see if maybe a long drive would make the computer send a diagnostic signal out to look for connection. Still nothing. I also want to mention, I checked the codes on the car and got a CC-ID 134 & CC-ID 378. I looked them up and it’s telling me what I already know. “Left light out” All the lights are working up front except the left halos. I did check the fuse box and checked every fuse for continuity and they are all good. What can I do now? Please help if anyone has ever had this situation. I posted some pics of the new and old Lux H8s. New and old Lux H8 This is one of the codes These are the pins for the headlight harness connector. Top left pin is the one that puts power to the halo

Are you still under the 5 Yr /50,000 miles warranty? I would put the stock bulbs back in and let the dealer figure it out. It could be a potential wiring nightmare, worst case scenario.
Did you look up to see if you can replace that part of the wiring harness? |

As far as the wiring harness -- dear lord -- that would be a major headache knowing that everything is connected to something else.

I've seen FRMs fail in low mileage but older cars (ie. 06-08s with hardly 60k miles). No symptoms other than an inability to power certain light bulbs and triggering the corresponding OBC errors. Chances are, yours kicked the bucket

The FRM will cut power to the wire if it sees a short.
You need to have the faults cleared to continue diagnosis.

I have a solution for my problems.
I took it to a wonderful shop out here just north of Houston. Advanced BMW Repair (ABR). The owner (Alex) hooked me up with one of the techs and ran a diagnostic on it and within 5 minutes decided to just reset the foot well module and viola! Halos work. I spent the next hour talking to the tech (Jerry) and another guy that is a driving instructor I believe on the side and just talked all kinds of stuff I can do. Got me super excited! All of this done and out the door for $40! They showed me the stuff they were working on and all kinds of goodies that they have in stock that I can throw on my ride. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I have schedule the E92 to go in next week to do my front end swap to M3 bushings and suspension arms! Hot DOG!!!!!
