Hey All,

I bought my 328xi 2 weeks ago, and thought I should change the oil. It has 86km now, last oil change was done by the previous owner at BMW at 78.5km, so it has been only less than 8km, but the mechanic was surprised about how black the oil was when he was draining it out, it got me worried.
What could have been the reason for that oil to be so black when it was in for less than 8km?

I have Fuchs 5w-40 in now, any advice on it is appreciated.

Oil turns black because of carbon. Normal, find a different mechanic.

Anyone knows anything or has any advice regarding the oil I used?
