First oil change, used Fuchs 5w-40.
Hey All,
I bought my 328xi 2 weeks ago, and thought I should change the oil. It has 86km now, last oil change was done by the previous owner at BMW at 78.5km, so it has been only less than 8km, but the mechanic was surprised about how black the oil was when he was draining it out, it got me worried. What could have been the reason for that oil to be so black when it was in for less than 8km? I have Fuchs 5w-40 in now, any advice on it is appreciated. Thanks! |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
