I agree, if i could afford a GT2, but i'm not there yet. I could swing a GTR though.

Seriously, this warranty crab some of you keep bringing up about the gtr is annoying as hell. There is only one guy that abused his tranny using multiple launch control (20 in one week) and the tranny blowup. The reason why this is so famous is because everyone seems to hate the idea of void warranty for abusing your tranny, so this same news gets post over many forum repeatedly.

Have you seen anyone who doesn't abuse the tranny (driven hard, but doesn't launch control multiple times like the guy above) and get issue in the GTR. It appears the GTR tranny hold up better than your m3 DCT (tranny stall when downshift too abrubly...talks about horrible software engineering cause you could be killed when this happened, and ton of thread about tranny falure, etc with no apparent abuse).

My point is this is a relatively new technology, so allow nissan and bwm sometimes to fine tune it and stop making false statement to put nissan down. Even bmw remove LC in new m3, m5, m6 for a reason and no one seems to say anything.

In any case, nissan just made the wrong marketing choice of allow LC and they are disabling it for 2010 which is a wise move. But this wouldn't take a way the fact that they did a phenomenal job with the GTR.

as for gt2 vs gtr, why didn't DR put the gtr vs 911 turbo instead. I guess it was because the turbo would get 8:00+ around the ring by the same driver. I think DR is totally bias for putting the gtr against the gt2 (at $200k, 400lps lighter, 50+ hp, it better beats the gtr around the ring).

As other poster mentioned, he felt he reached the limit of the gtr wouldn't mean that he did infact extract the max potential of the car. It could be he has driven porche before and his exposure to the gtr is relative new. who know.

DR even admitted the GT-R was on the inferior tires available OEM and the GT2 was on Clubsport spec'd Michelin Pilot Sport CUP. Yes, after the repeated claims of race rubber made by Porsche nuts in response to the initial GT-R times, now we have a magazine doing a comparo putting the GT2 on competition rubber and the GT-R on the lesser of 2 available tires.
