Burnt Clutch

Greetings,

I had a rough, and I mean ROUGH day at the strip (1st time) and I think I might have burnt out my clutch trying to figure out how to launch. I drive the car normally on weekends, but decided to drive it to work today to see if that burning clutch smell went away and if there were any other issues. As suspected, I'm still getting the burnt smell. What are some of the tell tell signs if your clutch needs replacing?

Some signs would be clutch slippage... way to see this would be to go out and get into a high gear (where rpms are around 2k) and floor it to put a heavy load on the engine... if your RPM's shoot up and stutter than you know your clutch is slipping and probably needs to be replaced.

I ran in the low 9's trapping at 87mph with plenty of rooms for improvement. Sounds impressive... but it was an 1/8 track . I laugh and thought it'll be easy when people told me racing on the track is a different game. Man I has wrong. 2007 AW 335i ran about an 8 even with JB4, dp, and intake. He's experience on the track and have an auto.

SN:
After I've started to get the hang of launching and launching softly, I had my first race against a STI.

I'll keep this in mind. . Hopefully, it's not. Everytime I'm about to get a LSD, something happens .

I did the same exact thing my first time down the strip. If the clutch isn't toast the smell will go away in a week or two. Do exactly what they said before. Go WOT from about 2500 rpm if it takes off like normal you're good. If your rpms shoot up but your speedo doesn't you clutch is toast. I'm holding off till this fall for mine. Prob black Friday. Lol

From the WOT test I've done earlier, guess everything is good. However, this smell sucks! I bet people think I can't drive when they smell my clutch at traffic lights.
SN: Black Friday is the best time for modding
