One more kite shot. Here it is taking its prey back to a tree to have some dinner.

Good thing you're an ace photographer Ed, because you'd never make it as writer.

Thanks Dave! And congrats on the sale.

That shot definitely deserves to be a big $ money maker. The animal even looks pensive

These shots make me want to go on a trip to shoot these beautiful raptors.

Great shot.

Lol, agreed. I need to start birding. I didn't live in a good place for it, so hopefully this trip to BC pans out and I get some targets

its a power station using oil for producing electricity. this is the smallest one we have in Cyprus, we have 3.
In an island were we have sun almost everyday the use of solar power is minimal.. i guess financial interest and lack of vision and planning ahead are the major reasons..

Solar is just beginning to become economic; however, wind has gotten even more competitive in the last five-years. It's often practical on islands that have relatively steady prevailing winds.

Great image, BTW.

Getty Images sold this one to the Wall Street Journal. I can't find where they used it and I'm not allowed to contact them.

Nice Cyote! We are seeing more and more of them here. If you make it to the Bay Area, the kites are all over the place, along with red-tails, coopers and harriers. November is also when the non resident raptors are migrating down the Pacific flyway. Of course, Ospreys will be hatching soon and we had tons last year!

We get everything mentioned except the kites. Our osprey are decent here, but I go home to Florida once a year, usually, where the osprey are thick. You can hardly go near the water without seeing a few fishing.

I'm going down to South Texas in May to catch the migratory action on the mid-continent flyway. I'll stay at a shooting lodge (photography shooting, that is) for three-days to try to pump up my portfolio and see some birds that I'm unlikely to see otherwise. Here's the ranch lodge:
http://www.santaclararanch.com/ I'm thinking about borrowing a 1DX from Canon Professional Services and a 600mm-II, if they have the 600.

I love the diversity of subjects in this thread! Lots of inspiring images

One of the 'ditches' we used to depart from in the 180.

Its a terrible shot, but we were using logging roads on this one job..

Couple more from the 'ditches'

And something low...

COOL! Just discovered an illusion with this image. Scroll back and forth with your mousewheel and it looks like the image is scaling in size. At first I thought for sure I was zooming in and out browser magnification but instead it's the image that is creating the optical illusion of scaling.

thanks bro.
yea tried the mouse trick. Thats kool. I guess cause of the angle of the shot.
