Some advice about my E92

Just bought a 2010 E92 325i, and I'm having a little trouble working out what power output I should be getting.

The dealership spec sheet said 267hp however when I read up on the engine model it says it's actually 217hp. I pointed this out to the salesman and asked if it had been remapped/had work done to it and he said no and that it was 267hp.

Now I'm slightly confused and if anyone can help with some advice it would be most appreciated.

The BMW 330i is 272ps which is 268bhp.

I think someone has got something wrong somewhere.

Yeah, that's what made me think and hence why I asked straight away if it had anything done to it. Being from a bmw dealership they said that if it'd been modded in any way they would have returned it to stock to make it "approved".

But saying that they just print out the data sheet straight from their system.. :s

It's also a big bloody difference when you consider it is approx 19% reduction in the advertised power.

ok cheers looks like i'll be having a "quiet" discussion with them as to the slight misrepresentation of the product.

Well you test drove it and were obviously happy enough with its performance and made the purchase?

Who cares what bhp it has. You drove it, you liked it, you bought it?

Its irrelevant what the bhp is really

Well yes and no... I was going to get the work done to get it to the 267 anyway, and as I say I asked if it had anything done to it and they said no.

As far as the test drive is concerned yes I was happy with the car but I couldn't give it a proper thrashing around a quiet business estate? lol.

If I wanted less power I would have bought the 320i that was sitting on the forecourt next to it but tbh I'm more annoyed about the fact that they lied to me when I raised the question in the first place.

I would save your money (and a lot of it) getting it to that spec and go straight to a later model 325d or 330d.

My car check app

Input reg number and gives you car stats.

I would always do my homework before purchasing. Car dealers do get it wrong.

I see cars wrongly advertised all the time

I did check the car out and hence why I asked about it, I was informed that because it's a bmw dealership it is the information that is showed for the car one the bmw database.
