Car got dented - Need Dent removal!
I can count on one hand the amount of times I've purposely parked next to a car in a parking lot. Every other time I'm all the way in the back by myself and getting my excercise walking to the store. So tonight on a date, I had no choice but to park next to an SUV, as there were literally no spots available. And sure enough, I came back to a dime size dent in my passenger side rear quarter panel. I've some to the conclusion, that you can't have anything nice here in NY. Someone will always come along and ruin it. People just don't care.
So can anyone please refer me to a good paintless dent repair guy in the Long Island area? I can't stand to look at it, and need to get it fixed asap.

Yeah, you cant have anything nice anywhere, sorry to hear. Hopefully, the paint wasnt affected so your car will look as good as new once the dent is removed.

just get the body shop to touch up the chip, if any, for you. they usually do a superb job. yes, there are asses everywhere. My car was recently scratched by my neighbor and no one even bothered to take responsibility (as expected). I'm glad that NJ that hit and run is a criminal offense but parking lots doesnt have enough cameras for evidence to point out the guilty. But i was lucky enough to prepare myself for these jackasses by getting clear bra coverage in most areas on the car. unfortunately most people in this country does not know how to appreciate their own property and others' as well.

my cousin is assistant bodyshop manager over at WideWorld of Cars in Spring Valley. He does PDR on Ferrari/BMW/Maserati. You could go there if you want to make a trip to Rockland

i had a quarter size dent on top of the right rear fender a few months ago, it was touching the line where it curves, and the dent removals would not be able to fix it, so i had to do it at the body shop the hard and expensive way. although it cost me $650, but the job was flawless, i even asked them to help me paint my front bumper reflectors too, for free.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm still pissed as hell. I washed the car yesterday and was dreading cleaning the panel with the dent because I knew it would just get me more heated. I'll give the guy in Great Neck a call today. Wide World of motors is a bit too far. My dent is about an inch above the seam on the right rear quarter panel (not touching). Hopefully this is repairable the easy way. How much should I expect to pay to get this done?

This is many be $$$ for quarter size dents. Some !@#$ punched my car and left a big dent on the quarter panel. Dent doctor fixed it in an hour or two with no paint or anything.

another incident from me;
someone punched my hood a little while ago, left 2 big dents on it. luckily the dent removal guy could help me out, and i was charged $120 cash (normally should be around $150+tax, cuz it's recommended by the dealership and was done at their site). they usually charge by panel, so the entire hood is considered just one panel. |

Just an update, brought the car to a local body shop here in LI. THey have an outside guy come in who specializes in dent removal. I paid $150 and the result is just incredible! You couldn't find the dent if you tried. THanks to everyone who gave me advice!

I have used a couple different guys over the past 5 years or so in upstate New York for minor door ding removal, and they are a God-send. Within a few minutes, then manage to smooth a ding right out so that you can never tell it was ever there. The only trick is to be sure to find someone who has experience doing this paintless dent removal. It is really an art form, and I have seen some not so nice work by rookies.
