Anyone have PE exhaust with catless dps.. Any drone?!?

Hey I wanted to get BMW performance exhaust for my 335, I have riss racing catless DP's. I was wondering if anyone have or heard the same or similar combo, and know what kinda drone there is...
I did a muffler delete a few months ago. Terrible drone. Worst is on the highway it was insanely loud inside..
Anyways hope someone has some insight

Thanks.

I have IS exhaust which is very similar to PE. Very minimal drone on the highway with the exhaust flap open. With it closed I can't hear exhaust at all.

Friend has done downpipes on a 335is which has the PE exhaust stock. From my understanding it's LOUD. I'd say it drones a bit too. Sucker needs some resonators to keep the noise down.

BMW PE + catless DP's = rasp. With that said, I have run this setup for over a year now and because it's only on the shifts (6AT) and in high rpm, it doesn't really bother me. I might replace the midpipe cats with vibrant resonators to cut out the rasp and gain a bit of power, but haven't bothered yet.

I have the BMW Performance Exhaust and catless downpipes and I have no drone. There was also no rasp until I removed the secondary cats. After that, there was rasp which disappeared after I installed Vibrant 1792 resonators.

Do you have any clips? I'm either going to do the exact same setup or have something fabbed for me.

I have VRSF 3" dp's with stock secondary cats and BMW PE. I like the sound a lot. Its louder than stock but still quiet when your on the highway or interstate. I haven't heard any drone so far and i have had catless dp's for over a year now.

exhaust

Hello. I am in the same boat as you. it only rasps during shifting and i am an automatic.

You have an e92xi correct?

i have a 2008 e90 rwd sedan N54

I believe the coupes come with an Xpipe where the sedans come with midpipe cats. (correct me if i am wrong)

i read that installing vibrant resonators will help, but im confused because my sedan already comes with mid-pipe cats. Would replacing the midpipe cats with the vibrant resonators do the trick?

maybe my disconnect is that i am confusing cats with resonators. Thought they were the same thing.

Maybe this is an intelligent question i should be asking... What will replacing the mid-pipe cats on an 08 Sedan with the Vibrant resonators do?

i read that on the 135's the midpipe section is interchangable between N54 and N55. I wonder if welding a N55 midpipe section inplace of my N54 stock mid-resonators will help.

is the vid above from a sedan? Would like to hear it screaming.

Thanks for any input everyone.

I just installed the set up on saturday and love it...Its quite when you want it to be and loud when u want it to be. if your on it you'll hear it with some rasp but that is the legendary result of a straight 6 and I might add it is one of the last cars on the road today that has that type of engine.

The exhaust sound was exactly what i was looking for how ever i think in time i will get resonators to change of the sound.

From my understanding the Sedan's have secondary cats along with resonators whereas the coupe is secondary cats and an x-pipe. I think a lot of the coupe guys cut out their secondary cats and swap those with vibrant resonators to help get rid of some drone although I have no idea what us e90 guys could do... Maybe replace the oem resonators with "better" vibrant ones?

Thanks Pete. Aren't the setups on n55 sedans different than n54 as well?

So would the second set have to be welded before or after the secondary cats?

I want to try to avoid experimenting and performing a hack job trying to figure out how to eliminate the rasp.

Thanks for the feedback.

i dont think it really matters where you put them as long as they're on there, i would say on an e90 the best spot would be right before the mufflers because they're isn't an x-pipe there like on the e92's.
