anybody ever remove DP's for drag strip?

since i dont want to have to remove a set of catless DP's for every dealer visit, i figure you would even get better track (1/4 mile) results in HP if you just removed the stock dp's and run open exhaust. this would be the most free flowing exhaust you could get hahahha. i bet it would be good for 3-4mph and a half second faster than leaving the complete stock exhaust on. anyone ever tried this?

or maybe unbolt it just after the stock dp's? ive never looked at the exhaust up close to see where the best place would be to remove for this idea but what you guys think? free hp FTW lol

You couldn't run open exhaust, you would fry the underside of your car. Even after the car has just been started for 10sec (idle) those DP's become fookin hot

are you talking about removing the downpipes from the turbos and not running any exhaust at all? my god i can't even imagine the damage this would most likely to do things under the hood

i think he means removing everything after the stock downpipes...

In that case you would def. gain some hp over an aftermarket exhaust, but you still have those limiting stock-catted downpipes. What I would do if you wanna maintain the factory exhaust look is gut the stock downpipes so the dealers cant see any visual differences from underneath.

+1...also the o2's would be reading a bunch of fresh air and likely cause the car to run funny.

bravo someone understood what i meant. this is what im talking about. sorry should have been more specific. lol@ taking the stock dp's off and letting all that hot air get pushed through the engine bay lol. atleast with the dps on it would be angled out of the bay right?

i need to get under there and check it out. and brad ran on map 7, i think it was to high for my mods. next time im gonna do map 5 i think the car will run better overall. with the mods i have anyhow.
