LSD offers huge grip levels and stops your car constantly crashing into traction control or totally losing grip, both of which are a huge annoyance and an impediment to enjoyable driving and tractive progress. When it breaks traction it does so in an orderly fashion with an LSD. Back in my single spin days it was hard to control the car in wheel spin in real world conditions so am not a fan of that argument either.
my CP broke right at the TB connection. do what ever you please doesnt matter to me just speaking from experience. i live in san diego not much rain or shitty roads around here. my car is making over 500whp and i have no problems with traction with the stock Elsd. running 18x9.5 wheels with 275s out back on my 1 series....im not against lsd just not going to make a difference for me at the race events i do. 1/2 mile straights on smooth airport runways....again just speaking from experience

How do you do a skid though?

I felt pretty lame at the last event not being able to do a line locker.

Cant imagine going to another event without lsd. That's like going to bunnings and leaving empty handed.

Has anyone done body-coloured kidney grille surrounds? With the bars in black?

That might look good on lighter body colours.

After only having my car for 2 months, im looking at:

Tune (probably JB4 with MHD)
Catless DP (have BMR sitting at home waiting)
Inlets (probably VTT)
CP (probably ER)
Exhaust (still doing research, but would love Akrapovic Ti system)

I can understand the attraction of doing the exhaust but your other mods also call for an upgraded intercooler before that.

Which is totally understandable.
However this is my daily driver, so it wont be under constant high loads, just the odd sprint here and there.
But the intercooler will be on the "to do list" as well. Just not a high priority.

Should definitely be a high priority. The stock intercooler is pretty marginal even on stock power, on a tuned car you only get 1-2 full throttle pulls before you start to heatsoak and lose significant performance. Saw it at the dyno day, a 335i went from 240kw- 225kw after 2 runs

Damn, didnt think heat soak would kick in that fast. Guess ill have to do the intercooler before the zorst then.
Cheers for the info

To receive the benefits of inlets, you will need a custom tune/backend flash to target 18-25psi across the rev range.

Doing this on a stock intercooler is foolish. If you want to squeeze every last bit of power out of your N54, you need to be FBO first, then look at inlets/turbos/PI etc IMO... unless you're a baller like Socket you do everything at once

You will have to excuse me for this, as I stated, I am only new to the BMW scene.
What do you class as FBO?

To be Full-Bolt-On used to be considered (1) catless down-pipes; (2) upgraded intercooler; (3) upgraded charge pipe; (4) upgraded diverter valves or blow off valve; and (5) upgraded intake. Then appropriately tuned to take advantage of the new hardware.

Once/if proven, upgraded inlets may one day be added to the list.

Any good aussie websites to look at for these parts?

bmraw.com seems to have most of them.
