Is this legal?

Little confused when this E93 328i passed me today... He had the same plate on front and back, EU spec. Even if your car was shipped over don't you have to have a different tag than this, like a temporary one?

its FL almost anything is legal over there. on some serious note the law says the license plate has to be visible but no mentioning on where it has to be. so as long u have ur real license plate visible could be in the front windshield or rear window as long they can see it ur fine

Spanish plates... could be Military, like Rota Air Base.... the last time I shipped my car from Germany I drove on my euro plates for 30 days before getting my VA plates. Even got pulled over for a speeding ticket and the plate were no issue...

There is so much wrong with this post...

You go ahead and put your license plate on the pass window and see if you don't get pulled over. The car is completely illegal.

Also, just noticed the Pentagon Car Sales frame, so I am 95% sure of my previous post. Pentagon Car Sales has a Military BMW Car Sales program with special rates and no sales tax.

True, but you still pay the tax once you register it back in the States (depending on the State). As I will will have to next year when I PCS.

Not always. In VA I had to pay a luxury tax upfront, but not sales tax. When I go to Texas in December I won't have to pay anything. It all depends on how you fill out the paperwork.

I have been stationed overseas twice, and on this PCS it will be my fourth vehicle I have shipped, I am very knowledgeable in this. Argue if you want, but us Military guys have our own rules sometimes, and unless you work for the DMV in Florida, you can say what you want.

You gotta let me know how you're going to do that. I didn't know there was a way to avoid it with Texas. This will be my first time shipping a car back. I'm a resident of Texas and want to register my car there as well.

I think the loophole in Texas has something to do with registering it as a New Resident... I'm not 100% sure... I have a buddy there who is gonna help me out when I get over there...

When I bought the car I told the dealership there that I was a California resident (which I WAS). They told me that when I register it in my resident state I will have to pay the sales tax... well, I never did; and now I'm in Washington. I don't know if that's why I never paid the tax or not, but that was my situation.

As mentioned earlier, definitely illegal, it's probably a US spec car bought overseas by US service member and they just didn't take off their euro-tags or just don't care and are leaving them on.

Again, this IS legal if it was a Military's member car shipped from overseas. He has 30 days on his European tags before he must register in whatever state he plans to register in. As I have mentioned, the fact that his frames say www.PentagonCarSales.com is a dead give-a-way. Just because you can't wear your fake Euro plates on your car that you bought on the internet, doesn't mean that members of the military with REAL European plates can't.

So much mis-information from all these experts.

i love how no one is really paying attention to you and still saying its illegal, when you clearly have explained that it is infact legal.

shits hilarious.
