I still love the car and how inexpensive it is to maintain. The AWD system is amazing and personally, I love the hatch design much more than the sedan. If I were afraid of reliability issues, I certainly wouldn't own a BMW. |

Any Audi A3 (and of course S3)!
Don't like the shape of the 1 series hatch...

I'm sure you will see both the Scirocco R and Golf R, though I don't think the Focus RS will make it there.
In any case I've driven both the Focus and the Scirocco and the scirocco is a car you would comfortably live with on a daily basis and feel happy carting the family about in, the quality of fit and finish is right up there with the BMW/Audi as is the level of options on offer and the very small improvement in driver involvement that the Focus gives the compromises are vast in comparison. Plus is torque steers, quite badly as it happens. |

I'll take the 1 Series 3 Door Hatch, 130i. Of cours it would be better with a N54 or N55 in it, a 135i. I like the 1 Series because of RWD and its propotions that are different than all the other models in ts class.
But as I am from France there is another hatch that is not bad. It is done as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the BMW M3 GTS, it is the Renault Mégane R26.R. It has a 2.0l Turbo, 230 hp, Brembo brakes, Reacaro seats, roll cage, carbon hood etc....It is the fastest FWD car, it broke the N-Ring record of FWD and so made it in 8:17 min. Well, the best of all is the Renault Mégane Trophy. It has a NA 3.5l V6 360 hp (from the Nissan 350Z, Renault and Nissan are together), at the back and is RWD. Unfortunatly it is only a track model, so we'll have to be satisfied by the Renault Megane RS with its 2.0l Turbo 250 hp, soon 275 hp. I just hope there will be a street version of the Renault Mégane Trophy as there was the Renault Clio V6 (Rear Engine & Rear Wheel Drive) with its NA 3.0l V6 255 hp. It kept up with the M3 E46! |

It's a shame that because they are Renault that they will spend most of their time at the dealers get what ever has broke fixed for the tenth time.
Though there is no denying that they make the best handling fwd cars presently. |

Since you're mentioning cars you can't get in the US (yet), I'll suggest this.

It might look pretty, but not much of a "hot" hatch. It's over weight (3600lbs) and not that fast (0-60 in 6.8 seconds) and expensive.
