Just bought 2008 335i, have warranty question

Hello, I just registered today and I just bought a Black 2008 335i coupe a couple days ago and I am LOVING IT!!

Anyway, like an ignormous, I didn't read up on warranty info before buying (not that it would have deterred me) and now I find out that the factory warranty here is good for only 2 years. So mine runs out next month and I need to get an extended VERY soon.

BTW, I'm military stationed up here in Geilenkirchen. I have heard that it is 400 Euro AND 300 Euro for another 12 months. I had to take the car in today to get a couple of service things done and get the driver's side daytime running light fixed. Anyway, I asked the guy there about it and he didn't tell me anything other than it costs more than that.

Is there anyone here in my situation (U.S. living here that bought an extended warranty for 12 months)? If so, how much did you pay? And is there different coverage to choose from?

Hope I'm posting this in the right section....

Give Pentagon Car Sales a call and ask them. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

You did buy a US spec car, right?

If you bought a German spec car then your local dealership should be able to help.

Yeah, I had already called Pentagon and was waiting for them to call back. They told me 249 Euro including tax...

So I went to my dealership down the road and they said 262 Euro with tax....so not bad..

Yes, it is U.S. spec...

Either the 249 or the 262 is above the "Abwicklungsschein" minimum so you won't have to pay the tax. Your local MWR office should have the forms.

262 Euros seems like a great deal. Do they have 12 month warranties like this in the states?

Yeah, I just take the VAT form up there and whatever 269 minus 17% (I think is the tax right now here) will be the price...so I'm figuring around 240 or so...not bad at all...

I doubt you could do this in the states. They offer this because you only get a 2 year factory warranty out the door and you get the 4 year/50000 in the states. He told me it's around 400 Euro next year for the extra 12 months. Either way, this is a relief for me...since I didn't research this prior to getting the car. I got real lucky since the warranty was out in exactly a month and he said they wouldn't give me the extra 12 months once that date had passed...
