Tension struts is about $128 @ X 1 hour labor. The rear subframe bushings at $40@ X 4 5-6 hours.

What would it do to the car's handling if I just change the front tension struts and leave out the rear sub frame bushing? Labor is too costly and time consuming.

It's the springs in the drivers seat. Not sure this can be retrofit from the M3

After installing the thrust arms(tension rods) is alignment needed???

workin for a automanufacturin (toyota), center susp is just a bolt on solid steel brace with a dampener for counter weight, yea probably not on the bmws...lol

i'll just edit it to save further discrepency, and it was an example, hah

I have not taken apart the controls arms of an E9x yet, but every other BMW I have swapped this part on did not need an alignment.

there are several other beefier arms from the m3 that can be swapped over as well.... i had a 335 and and m3 in the air and compared all the suspension components a few months ago when the m3 first came out... then i looked up the prices and said nevermind!! hahaha

It might sound like a dumb question to you, but I'm not too knowledgeable with what throws off the alignment and what needs to be adjusted to align a car.

Harold, for the rear links, this one for sure- 33322283549 - it is good idea if you have Quaife and will reduce toe out under acceleration. That is were you should stop unless you load test the other two forward links for stiffness.

Spill the beens on what you checked out on the rear.

Yah, I guess it's better safe than sorry.
Or course, I had it done after I installed the suspension, but I wasn't sure about this.
I did look, and I was reading that in most cases, Castor is almost always not adjustable.
If the castor is off then that usually means that something is worn.
I'll see how the installation goes.

If I just change the front tension struts and leave out the rear sub frame bushing, what would it do to the car's handling ?
I would save a lot of installation cost if I change them together with the shock and F/R sway bar. They are about 128 @ X 2.

FWI, the front suspension on e92 is identical with e92 M3, as well as, 90% of the rear suspension. You can literally bolt on an M3 suspension and brakes ect. The only real difference between between cars is the rear track width which is minor and a LSD. This should be of no real surprise.

I measure up the M3 strut bar today and it should fit so I order the parts ( http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...61&hg=51&fg=75 ). This design is superior to any straight cross over bar from a mechanical stiffness point of view and much lighter. You need ever part of the RealOEM listed page and for item #6 you need the 12 mm bolt.
