adjusting damping on KW Variant 2...

who out there actually adjusts the damping on V2s? and how hard is it to do?

I'm looking into a set of coilovers for my e92 335. its a daily driver but I'm definitely looking to take it to the track a couple times this year and more as time goes on. I was wondering if people who own the kw variant 2 are actually finding themselves using the adjustable damping feature, or is it just forgotten about once the suspension is installed and all initial adjustments are done. and how hard would it be to adjust the stiffness and height?

the only reason i would go for a v2 over v1 is if the damping is easy to adjust if i wanted a stiffer ride for tracking.

any input would be appreciated!

KW v2 is a complete suspension setup. just go for it eyes closed. Yes you will love the dampening setup and its very easy to change.

You adjust the damping on top of the damper.

Here a pic of the left rear damper on my e90, rear seat folded down.

Excuse my ignorance but did they cut out a hole for the adjustment of the dampening? Or was that already there? Where is the one for the front located? Just asking as I will be getting KW V2's next month.

Thanks a bunch! very much appreciated.

Mac.

The hole is there from the factory, covered by a plastic/rubber "hat", and the trunk lining seen on the upper left part of the pic.

Thanks again!

Don't know, but I assume not much difference . Your rear seat folds down, right?

Yeah they do. But when they do I just have a wall in front and can see the little hole in the middle where a ski bag would go, but it's a compartment to hold stuff in. It won't allow access to the rear. So I think it will be a little different.

I'll have to see of their are any e93 owners with them on to check.

Thanks anyway

Same thing, at the top of the shaft. You just need to pop the hood to adjust them, super easy. I love my V2's

So I'm getting KW V2's installed today
Anything you guys recommend? I heard there are differences between installing on a convertible and a regular coupe. At least thats what the shop told me.

Hopefully it will go well! Just looking to get rid of the wheel gap. Want the car to be as comfortable as can be since its a daily driver.

If there is anything you want to sound off on please do. I'm new to all tis so anything is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Mac

What about for those of us who do not have folding down rear seats? How hard is it to adjust the rear?

Well I guess you have to lay head first in the trunk.

I have a E93 on kw v2. You have to cut a whole out in the rear to adjust them.

Hey guys! I need your help!

I had my KW V2 installed 3 weeks ago, had the height and rebound (5 clicks from stiffest) adjusted on the rear driver and passenger sides with both same settings. Both have 20mm spacers and fender rolled a little bit. My rear tires are 265/30 on 19x10 wheels!

I always have rubbing issues ONLY on the rear passenger side. I've tried comparing it with the same turns and dips, the driver side is OK (no rubbing). But the passenger side!

What do you guys think? Is there something wrong with the shock on the rear passenger side? Why is it only the passenger side rubs on the fender a lot?

Thanks

I never clubsports Wich is really confusing, dampening on bottom front, rebound on top front, dampening on top rear lol! The rebound really is effected by dampening, do when you change dampening you have to change rebound. Once dialed in it is perfect. I have both front and back in the middle (6 clicks out of 12).
