I saw Explorers in Dubai and I thought, better save my money and get one of those

I had a similar car abroad.

Either nice, but the silver can be a bit cold, my E350 has a similar interior and it is nice, but not as luxurious as beige imho...
Thanks Gizze ... I think your E350's interior looks nicer than Cirrus. I agree about Almond but I really need dark carpets.

Yup, they do have some crazy colour options. I think their colour palette will do well in the Middle East, China and Russia

Thanks Richard. The RR will often be used as an airport taxi and I can see the sides of the boot etc getting stained.

Interior changed ...

Brogue with Ivory / Brogue carpets / Shadow walnut

The photos aren't a true representation of the wood, I have seen it in flesh. Very dark colour which should go down well. Side by side looked better than the other wood with previous combinations.

Saw these being tested in morocco last week. Looked awesome in the flesh and so composed on the dirt roads.. I guess it was press launch testing.

I was on a quad bike!

good looking options, I don't know which I would pick. I think I would be more concerned about the exterior options knowing me.
On a side note I'm beginning to wonder if I'm on the right forum if people are forking out £60k on new RR and £30k on watches from Dubai.

Received notification to say that it has been built

I'm ordered blind thus I'm a little worried about how well the interior is going to go down but I've been told both exterior/interior are significantly darker in flesh than the online configuration suggests.

Are the latest gen more reliable than the last? Having took one in [ 59 plate TDV8 ] for suspension fail, alternator fail and now brake control module fail in the space of 3 months i am getting pretty much pissed off with them.

Talking

We've had a few Range Rover. Four of which were the now former generation L322's. All of them suffered faults but none ever had a serious mechanical fault.

I rejected a 2010 Autobiography because the dealership failed to provide a fix for the surround cameras which would transmit distorted and blinking video.

A replacement was ordered and it too would go on to eventually suffer from problems with the surround camera system. Once the rubber seal around the windscreen came loose and lately I have noticed that the suspension drops when it has been parked for a few days. Also during the freezing spell the door lock was frozen, which to be fair I think was water ingress from the pressure washer! The battery has also depleted twice but thats probably been caused due to an interior light being left on (most modern cars cut interior/exterior lights when locked but this doesn't).

Despite these annoying niggles we have enjoyed the RR's well when they have worked. Like I already mentioned we have not experienced any serious failures (touchwood) e.g. I think gearboxes are a common issue but mainly isolated to high mileage diesels (I have never tried one but I hear the late L322 TDV8's and the new model diesels are very very good).

We like the Range Rover because they have an immense road presence and the driving position is excellent. Interiors are fairly up market but I don't think they are very comfortable for rear adult passengers. We use it a lot for the airport runs and general workhorse duties. But it does the work of a luxury barge when required. Particularly useful in the wet/winter months, we do have winter tyres and I've put it through some seriously though stuff. Its pretty handy off road and we do often take the 'green lane' home

Yes there are other downsides too like the depreciation which often makes people wonder if it is even worth that ? The running costs are also questionable.

There isn't much else on the market that does what we need the RR to do. The new model for us is a progression, needs must Apparently it addresses some complaints but I'll believe it when we start living with it

The new model FFRR just stands out so much, it looks awesome and the interior is truly luxurious. I am minded to get a 4x4 early next year to replace the 640d and the V70, it would the wife's car but I would use it at weekends. As well as the New Rangie, which to be fair is probably outside my price bracket even with a 10% discount, I will have a look at the Disco4, which comes with a 13% discount (we had a D3 in 2005 for three years), or if the retail discounts are good enough I may look at a Mercedes GL again. The new GL has a combined mpg of 35 ish which is vastly better than our first GL which was never above 27mpg.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your RR when it arrives.

I got a quote on a 3.0 Vogue Range Rover today, standard Vogue with 21" alloys, privacy, heated wood and leather steering wheel in (standard) metallic paint..........

..... Even with a respectable discount..... I should have worked harder at school or if i want it I will have to sell the wife and kids and a kidney........

A £76k car with a GMFV of £25K after 4 years!

Our neighbour has just bought one, a Vogue in a sort of gold colour, haven't had a nosey yet, but it has really wacky DRLs for sure.

It's their new family wagon, his 599 Fiorano is staying in the carpeted garage....
