Alpine HID AE's vs. Camaross HID AE's!!!
with all the HID AE buzz going around i think i'm convinced i wanna get them but the question is, WHICH ONES?!?! Alpine's or Camaross'
i'm not going to get the one with better pricing since they're pretty much the same especially with the prices both are offering right now. so what are your guys' opinion on these? which seem to be the better product? what color temp is the best? the only downside i think they have is you have to create a hole in the headlight cover and i'm very concerned about getting a perfect seal. anyone figure out a better way to get the wires through there? people with them already installed please chime in! |

Both are pretty much the same just different way of making them work. I've been doing mine for about 2 years now and they come with a 2 year warranty

Thank you guys, no holes or any chipping required for 3 series cars, it is only the 1 series guys who require a hole or chipping of the headlight.
BSM 135i, it was great meeting you at BimmerFest, hope you are happy with our kit! |

What do you guys think looks better on a BSM E92, 6000K or 8000K?

6000K will be a lot like daylight, so it may blend in a little in the bright sunlight, but it might also be a little too bright/glarey at night, and the light output might turn the angel eyes into blobs. 8000K will be a little more blue, and 10000K should be like the E92LCI's. 12000K is ricer purple.
NOTE: those are with the Alpine HID kits, I'm going from pictures in reviews and comments from owners about the colors. Case-in-point about 12000K: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433832 If you read a little lower there's a guy with 8000K who talks about the difference between 8000K and 10000K Last edited by rollinstone157; 06-14-2011 at 10:13 AM.. |

On my last vehicle I had 8000K and it was very bright with a hint of blue in it. But like the poster above said, 6000K's color is close to sunlight.
This chart isn't for either of the companies you posted but it will give you an idea. |

I would opt for the 8000k just becuase of the lower light luminocity it has. HID angel eyes tend to get EXTREMELY bright at night time and blinds oncoming drivers.. I read someone else having 3000k HID's getting pulled over b/c the cops thought his high beams were on. Obviously lower temperature means more luminocity.. But then again you wouldnt want 12000k either just because that color is illegal

old thread....
i have the Alpine MSS HID 8000k kit. ive had it for about a year. i absolutely love it! never had a problem, looks awesome in day and night, and the company will replace ballasts that die within the first year. I would choose Alpine over Camaroos, since ive heard bad things about their kit (failures/no reply from company/etc.). Plus im not even sure they are in production anymore ?
