335i drivers
Do you have auto or manual?
I'm finding it a struggle to find a manual? Why are there so few around?

Quite a broad remit
Want 335i manual or 335d Coupe/Saloon/Touring Nav and Leather Test drive the D I've seen tomorrow but overpriced imo at 22k for 57 with 50k miles. My search continues.

Had a 325i manual and now have a 335i Auto, I spend a fair amount of time in traffic and to be honest would probably not go back to a manual now. I am not one of the many forum members who take the ring etc, if I did I would probably want more control and thus have the stick. But for dropping the boy off at school and bombing to the golf club the auto suits me just fine

Prices dropped loads of 335ds and 335is then flipping well shot up again!
So to find a 16k miler Touring 335d SE for not a lot over £20k was a cracking find - and about a grands worth of extras thrown in. And they gave me a good price for a car I thought was almost worthless. And it was Sytners - bargain! Was a total manual purist for years but times have changed - a good auto is definitely your ally rather than enemy for speedy driving. In the old days they were utter cr4p. |

I had to hunt long and hard for a manual 330i and I really enjoy it (apart from in stop start traffic) but the missus finds the box a bit stiff/difficult.... shame she rarely gets to sit in the drivers seat

Me. Lol.
It's a great engine, but it's not an out and out sports car. It's a very fast, sports cruiser packed full of electronics. If you want it bare, buy something like an exige/TVR/caterfield shirley |

Manual 335i's are like hens teeth. I've never even been able to find one to test drive. Since members of this forum are probably more likely to be car enthusiasts that the average 335i driver I reckon the ratio manual to auto will be higher here than overall. I did have an auto 335i coupe for a day. I loved the extra power of the engine and it's more effortless delivery compared to the 330i. However, that test drive reinforced my resolve that if I do ever get one it won't be an auto. |
