Winter Setup - e90 335i on Motegi MR118 17x8

e90, Jet Black, Sport Suspension.

Cheap Matte-black (They're kind of matte) rims, they're heavy at 24-26lbs each.

I haven't seen any pics of the Motegi's on an e90, so here are a few unprofessional ones of my winter setup.

Rubbers are Pirelli Sottozero IIs.

Handling:
Whatever, these are winter tires, FWIW rear slide is predictable and controlled, gets right back in line. Bit of understeer and general boatage.

New OEM caps fit

OEM center caps fit. The new one... not the old. There will be a little space between ... but much better than the motegi cap.

I though I might go with Rial Salernos but now I'm really feeling the look of the Montegi's. Thanks for posting all the pics.

Before I find the right caps that fit, I just bought oem 45mm decals and they fit ok over the Motegi caps. Part number 36131181082. There's probably 1-2mm left on the edges, but from far away, it looks tight!

I've been struggling with my decision on winter rims, but with these pixs you have made my decision much easier. Looks fantastic and thanks alot for posting the pixs.
Now I have to decide whether or not I go with 18's instead of 17's.

Thanks guys but...

I drove on my summer tires last week with just a dusting of snow - knew it was going to be a bit of a challenge and it was. Got my set mounted today (photo). Tire Rack did a good job mounting the roundels.

However, am I the only one that didn't get TPMS? I'm kinda pissed because I can't turn off the warning light and I'm not seeing anything easy to get around it (help?). If I would have known this I may have gotten the sensors.

I got a 17" set of these for winter.

Just added OEM center caps - they were a little tight to but got them on there. The part # is 36 13 6 783 536

To RE since this thread has gotten some attn in the new year:
17x8 MOTEGI RACING MR118 BLK P (No idea what the offset is.)
205/50R-17 Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozeros (I might actually go for a < 205 if you have a ton of snow.)

They're on for a 2nd season. The rears have -no- tread but my fronts have plenty of life left.

For the record; the center caps were grabbed at purchase time from tirerack.

As a final note, with sidewalls this high, and rims at 17" I've had no issues with bending, this is driving over terrible rural roads and terrible NYC roads at 'aggressive' speed.
