Agreed. Also, we probably get gouged because of the fact that it's a bmw and they figure we can pay those prices. My friend who referred me from an subaru wrx forum was being quoted like $450 bucks or less. It's

IMO, not worth the money, but others swear by them, especially if they have to follow semi-trucks often. I find the visible line on the hood to be too distracting personally, and a few scratches won't kill me.
Well, your words are encouraging! I got my "first scratch" on the bumper yesterday afternoon and I'm still recovering emotionally.

I didn't even FEEL my bumper touching the curb when I parked in an old part of town (with HIGH curbs). But somehow my bumper caught and... yikes!... there I was with a two-inch scratch on my front bumper. 13 days old and there it is!!

As Rod Stewart always said, "the first cut is the deepest." I took the car to the dealership this morning and the advisor suggested touch up paint as it would only be a matter of time before the "next" scratch!

I hope you all are enjoying your cars- and have had a longer "grace period" than have I!!

Aww Damn. Sorry to hear that Danielle. I am also paranoid about that first cut. I second guess where I park every time, carefully analyze the distance between cars and whether they have 4 doors or 2, how big the doors are and the relative distance between, and how far my nose is away from the curb. We'll see how long this lasts.
