Wheeler Dealers

Anybody watch this? I know it is not the most mentally challenging of programmes, but I am seriously fu*king addicted to this.

Watched a quality one last night about a Mk 1 Golf GTI. Only problem is I am ending up going to bed at 12.00

I'm torn by this - I love watching Edd fix the cars, but Mike Brewer does my cannister in.

His worse facet is "We've made a tidy £300 profit" Yeah mate, £300 profit if Edd's 100 hours were free, as was the rent on his unit and his tools etc etc.

I love the nerdy, fixing up the cars element, its just a shame they have th shroud it with Mike Brwewr and the whole pretence of him selling the cars to turn a profit.

I'll watch it if nowt else is on, I liked the E36 M3 one. The show has improved over time, one of the first showed Edd grinding a front wing off and the sparks where going all over the engine and windscreen.

Love the programme too altho Ed's repairs with filler and aeresol paint are seriously dodgy in real life. Also as above they always seem to conveniently forgot to charge Ed's time.

New series is on Sky+ series link for me. Can't get enough of it. Agree it doesn't need Brewer but watching Ed fix the cars is great.

Discovery Shed on each night from 11.00 to 12.00 generally, channel 242. Sometimes on 241 at 10.00 on certain days.

Yep, watch it a lot - seen just about every episode I think now

Watched one tonight that I sky+'d from the latest series, A scooby WRX - looked quite smart when finished apart from the dodgy stripes!

Often wish Mike would bugger off tho' and leave Ed China to it!

The botching job on the Mk 1 mini last night was a bit crude, and they made a whole £300 profit, Ed spent at least 2 days rubbing the car down and dear knows how long sorting rust so think they actually cost themselves thousands but sure its good TV.

I was thinking last night, having watched it for the first time, what a complete waste of time and effort. Now, I'm all for restoring old treasured cars, but to try to dress it up as 'making a profit' is just plain ridiculous. I felt sorry for the mechanic chap; spend all that time & effort just to flog it onto some 'yoof' who'll trash it (stereotyping I know).

Not dissing the skill, quality of work & overall attention to detail, but where was he when BMW quoted me £400 to respray a slightly scuffed bumper.

WRX episode - Anyone notice the stripe peeling off the bonnet intake when they did the end of show close ups?

Those gold Brembo's looked scuffed and scratched up! What happened to the rear brake upgrade? Now the braking is unbalanced!!

So they took a well looked after, original, unmolested WRX which is what the fat lad was looking for from the start, then turned it into a chavtastic modified frankestein to be advertised alongside all the other under financed, over modded WRX's on the market .... go figure!!

Great little program. Echo comments above about Mike Brewer being an irritating tit. There was one where they did out an an old VW camper van but couldn't find a buyer so Ed ended up buying it himself. Allegedly.
