DTEC V3s

Anyone using the new DTEC V3s?

http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...W-1206-20.html

I'm about the install them, but got an e-mail from another company saying that using them would be dangerous.. Anyone know of any issues with the design of this particular light that would make it incompatible with a pre-LCI e92?

I am currently using these on a LCI 335i. They are pretty bright. I do get an error when the headlights automatically turn on.

What error do you get? Do they dim when you turn on your headlights?

They are just like OE. They dim when they shut off and when headlights go on. The error just says to check the right running lamp and only does it once. The vendor told me to switch the plug to see if that helps.

That is really good pic of them. But at certain angles they do look great. Nothing like the real deal but it works.

How different are these from the V2's?

Just curious.. how did you get these lights in? The heat sink behind the light is so huge that I cannot get these in my e92. Does the e90 have a bigger space to work in?
No there initially wasnt enough room. Pull off the wire holder and it will expose a little plastic post that I just cut off and that freed up the necessary space.

We have heard that these dont fit actually. Here is a quote from an e-mail we received:

"I cannot install these in my e92 because the darn heat sink is gigantic! It's sort of a joke. I feel duped by telling me they would fit my e92. Even with special tools, they simply will not fit.. The heat sink on these are just shy of 2" in diameter!"

I couldn't agree with you more. In addition e-92 lighting customer service is absolutely terrible. One of the reps there actually told me that it can take up to 3 days to get an email reply. Some business they are running there!
