Catless N52 headers anyone? With the discount they are still less expensive than the AA headers. One day sale only.

Great catch - thanks for your heads-up to the community.
First I've seen SS at those prices. I have mine already, but for those considering a purchase and on the fence due to SS economics, jump now. I have no affiliation with ECS or SS.

Look at the welds for yourself, super sprint on the top and my AA headers on the bottom. I was pleasantly surprised at the worksmanship on the AA headers when I received them... Last edited by Biginboca; 11-27-2017 at 08:31 PM.. |

Midpipes as-in secondary cat delete? I like that SS or AFE are stainless and theoretically high quality and bolt-in.
I bought a full catback with both the X-pipe mid section 2 aft the second cats, as well as the resonated section2. I figure I'l start with the resonated part and swap in the X-pipe if it's too tame. But I'm looking for a more refined sound rather loud rasp. |

You guys do realize that those midpipes are for use with the SuperSprint exhaust system, right (or you could use them for a custom exhaust I suppose)? They wouldn't work with the OE setup because, IIRC, it has a single inlet to the muffler, whereas the SuperSprint muffler has two inlets. Also, it is the MIDPIPE.. aka Section 2 we are talking about here.. NOT the Section 1, which is where the secondary cats are.
Just hoping to clear up any possible confusion... Great deals though and wish I had the funds to jump on the headers. Oh well, maybe next year. I'm not worried though if I have to "settle" for AA lol.. |

The stock (OE) midpipe is probably fairly small in diameter, so even if you deleted the resonator by having a pipe welded in its place as you're suggesting, there may be still room for improvement via either upgrading to a larger diameter Y-Pipe style midpipe (i.e. BMW PE midpipe), or switching to two separate midpipes for more of a "True Dual" exhaust setup like the SuperSprint exhaust utilizes.
