Catless N52 headers anyone? With the discount they are still less expensive than the AA headers. One day sale only.

Great catch - thanks for your heads-up to the community.

First I've seen SS at those prices. I have mine already, but for those considering a purchase and on the fence due to SS economics, jump now.

I have no affiliation with ECS or SS.

I've heard great things about SS in the Audi world. What's the consensus about SS headers vs AA?

From what is posted on here, SS are higher quality. Not that AA are bad.

I’m not so sure. I saw the Super Sprint deal on ECS this morning and was kinda disappointed cause I just bought AA headers last week for the same price. When I looked at the images of the super sprint headers I was kinda disappointed by the quality of the welds which does not look any better, and maybe not even as good, as the AA headers I have just received.

Look at the welds for yourself, super sprint on the top and my AA headers on the bottom. I was pleasantly surprised at the worksmanship on the AA headers when I received them...

Does anyone know if these fit e92? Website lists them as for e90 only.

According to the Supersprint website, they do. Looks like the only difference between their e90 and e92 exhausts is the muffler.

AA are basically an SS copy. In fact, most headers for BMWs are just copies of SS designs.

What is the purpose of the midpipe? Would it do something different than having a muffler shop weld in straight pipe for the same run of piping?

Midpipes as-in secondary cat delete? I like that SS or AFE are stainless and theoretically high quality and bolt-in.

I bought a full catback with both the X-pipe mid section 2 aft the second cats, as well as the resonated section2. I figure I'l start with the resonated part and swap in the X-pipe if it's too tame. But I'm looking for a more refined sound rather loud rasp.

You guys do realize that those midpipes are for use with the SuperSprint exhaust system, right (or you could use them for a custom exhaust I suppose)? They wouldn't work with the OE setup because, IIRC, it has a single inlet to the muffler, whereas the SuperSprint muffler has two inlets. Also, it is the MIDPIPE.. aka Section 2 we are talking about here.. NOT the Section 1, which is where the secondary cats are.

Just hoping to clear up any possible confusion...

Great deals though and wish I had the funds to jump on the headers. Oh well, maybe next year. I'm not worried though if I have to "settle" for AA lol..

The stock (OE) midpipe is probably fairly small in diameter, so even if you deleted the resonator by having a pipe welded in its place as you're suggesting, there may be still room for improvement via either upgrading to a larger diameter Y-Pipe style midpipe (i.e. BMW PE midpipe), or switching to two separate midpipes for more of a "True Dual" exhaust setup like the SuperSprint exhaust utilizes.
