RROCC No Oil ?

i have 4,000 miles, 6 months on my RR-OCC. i could see a discoloration on the glass gage tube. taking it out took not even 5 minutes. i removed the bottom drain plug, and hold it over the oil pan. NO OIL ? i even blow in the in and out nozzles, still no oil. got a Q-tip, and swabbed the hoses and inside the OCC, and discover everything is coated w/ oil.

i drive spiritedly, but don't track or race the car. is this amount of oil normal, (or lack of oil) would be more like. i know the RR-OCC it installed correctly because their DIY was so easy to follow.

anyone else have similar results ?

thanks for your reply.

I installed mine late may...

drive about 500 miles a month (very short trips) usualy oil doesnt heat up operating temperature and I dont romp on it until its at OT.

So I have about 4 months on my car with 2000 miles . There is discoloration and I have oil leaking from the the top of the RRCC. however there is no oil in the level indicator. Also I havent taken it off yet. Will do that after its replaced.

I've had mine since mid June (with a tune installed). I drive about 700 miles a month, spirited. I just emptied it last weekend to fix the only leak I had around the sight tube and there was some oil that came out (after ~3,000 miles). Wasn't a significant amount, maybe 1 fl. oz.

Just get some worm clamps or whatever and tighten everything.

Update:

RR sent a replacement w/o any problems. It wasnt the same powder coated but at this point i dont care

when taking off the old RRCC there was oil leaking from the top fitting(s) and possibly around where the head of the can attaches to the body. I didnt notice any oil leaking from the bottom screw.

After removing the original CC I turned it to the right by accident (where the gauge is) and it did show oil being caught inside !!!

please note after removal i inspected the original CC and the orings around the oil gauge were shot .... broken and almost all falling off. FWIW

Riss Racing... thank you for replacing the CC and standing behind your product !

Mine leaked at first. I had to insert some wire mesh inside and then it started to catch some oil. POS can if you ask me.

Are you kidding me? This engine has SERIOUS blow by problems. Maybe you have a leak in your can or in your connectors, but this engine has serious blow by issues. Just pull your charge pipe and look if you don't believe me.
