Mark helped me to wrap that azz today
...yeah that kinda sounded sick. (hope you all got a laugh out of that)
Mark came over (even after last night's midnight completion of that M5 wrap) this morning to wrap my diffuser and cover my reflectors. Figured to take a few shots while he was in action. My little girl was very interested in his work (as you will see). Thanks for the great job Mark. -alex

Damn, those are some nice pics! Really shows how u get from start to finish. Just gotta use the heat gun n a lil stretch to flatten everything outa bit n use your thumb in a half circle motion to "roll" the corners smooth. Also how u hold the vinyl while heating n "rolling" is very important. As fror edges, u heat up n press the edges down with a squeegie to the shape, then trim away the excess, heat up the edge again to release some stress n squeegie down again. Also u must use some 3m primer 94 on the edges for better adhesion on edges that are not folded over.
This diffuser is a lil more complex than the regular ones, u cannot just lay the vinyl flat n try to "press it all down into the curve, I have seen this method used n I don't feel too confident in the longevity of it not lifting. I'd say this is a 7 level of difficulty from the various diffusers ive done. |

Thx Tuan... I love it too. It'll look better after I get everything washed.

Mark had it done in 1.5 hours, including remounting it onto the bumper. He also had to wrap up a little strip that is actually part of the rear bumper, but looks like it's part of the diffuser. When you're looking at the rear end, it's that deep indentation between where the diffuser and bumper meets in the middle. He was careful to line up the CF so that it looks like one entire piece. Definitely ask Mark (WU99WU) how long it would take to wrap a car. He's very experienced, not just starting out, so you'll have to estimate your time accordingly. Good luck! Quote:
well said bro. i'll have to meet up for some pho sometime. btw, the weekend guy @ carnutz wound up not being there like Ryan told me. i'll have to wait til monday to pick up that spare bolt. =[

he was one of the first guys that i remember doing it when i first bought my e90. i hopped on the cf wrap of the interior pretty quick. been very happy since and seen many shops begin to offer wrapping services (but definitely not as good quality as mark).
welcome aboard. lotsa fun here and so much to learn as well. Quote:
Mark did a great job. any new and recent pics of your ride? thanks for the compliment - it's rather stocky actually, compared to everyone else on here. going to the meet next weekend?

No recent pictures as of late, but I'll see if a buddy of mine with a DSLR can help take some nice shots
