No interest in car
Evening
Had my car up for sale for 2 weeks now and I've not had one call, it's had over 400 views but no calls. I don't think it's priced too high, what do you think? Is the anything else I can do to gain a bit more interest? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...had=New&page=1 Cheers |

Nice car, nice advert, well written, good clear pics.
Over all not really much negative I could say about it apart from the must go this weekend bit. That makes it sound like you're desperate to get rid of it for some reason. I suppose the only thing you can do really is lower the price a bit (I've not compared it to others, just thinking its the only thing you could change really) |

Car looks nice.
Price seems about right. I've not checked others similar to yours for prices and condition as a comparison, but that could be worth doing. Makes it easier to pick the phone up if your car is clearly better than others at a similar pricepoint. Just hang in there. Autotrader can be a slow game. You only need one person |

The nav screen looks pretty bad (anti glare coming off). Could potentially be putting some buyers off as it doesn't look nice having a crappy screen. Consider getting an anti glare protective cover to stick over the top and hide all the "scratches". Bro-tect make made to fit screens for BMWs.

As above, it's probably the mileage.

That doesn't guarantee its a better car though, and for some reason people seem to think that it does.
Current condition and history is of much more importance obviously |

Probably priced a grand too high in my opinion, but it depends on how desperate you are to sell. |

I'll forward this ad on to a few friends up in Preston. Really tidy motor that, only thing I can see putting people off it the mileage and any possible dpf issues.

Would agree with mileage, from experience.
Was on the lookout for a decent diesel car and bought a Mercedes e320 cdi with 100kish odd miles on the car. It was a one owner car from new and had a full main dealer service history on the car. Imo there is much more to just a full service history needed on a high mileage car. Personally I wouldn't buy a high mileage car again, maybe because i ended up with a lemon. With that being said a friend of mine has a Volvo estate with about 180ish miles on the clock with not a single thing wrong... But I reckon the majority of people would always assume the worst.. Glws buddy... |

I've always bought high milage cars as you get such better value for money. You just need to do your homework first.
As said above it really affects the valve of stuff as many people still think that cars of today will over 100k on the clock are past it. I'd agree if it was an Austin allegro but it isn't. Although people accept cars have moved on since then, their opinions on mileage haven't! |

Cheers, I thought I priced it fairly given that anything close to it is still 100k miles and a lot don't have the spec. The LCI's do seem t hold their value alot more than pre LCI's.
I'm so over the top with servicing, the local independent think I'm mad for how often I bring it in but as I have been doing 30k miles a year I need it too stay reliable. Also with the regards to the DPF, I doubt there'll be any issues as it has spent the last 2 years cruising motorways early in th emorning or late at night so,always on cruise at 80-85. It's been a great car and the only reason I was changing it was for something newer and possibly a 6, but if there is no interest by Friday I think I'll keep it for a few more months then trade it in which is such a shame. |

Most common way people mitigate risk is to buy newer / lower mileage. Mileage is one of the biggest drivers of depreciation. |

It's a very good ad, apart from the must go this weekend line, that does, as someone said, sound desperate. I don't have time to compare it in detail with the similar priced /miles ones, but I think yours was 4 previous owners whereas several were one owner card that can make some difference.
WBAC if I got the details right were 6,500£ so if it were me, I'd drop it below 8k on Autotrader to stand out and give it a spin a little longer before trading it. |

Tbh 2 weeks is nothing for cars like these, there are plenty of them available and sometimes it takes time to sell a BMW. All I can suggest is you could lower to 8-8.5k an be prepared to wait a month or two.

Nice looking car , it's the price and then mileage as well , I've got 330d with 120k with full service history I've spent thousands on it, including full auto transmission rebuild..
Mine is E91 touring Msports, tried to sell it last year for £6.5k but no interest, ended up keeping it. In your case there are quite a few with similar spec but with far less money, depends how desperate you are to sell it and how low you can go price wise.. Anyway GLWS.. |
