I just got mine installed and WOW! I felt something that felt like I was given an extra push when I was WOT.
I watched a video of the gauges staying normal until you go WOT they change to boost/iat or whatever you set. I think that's cool so when you just want to cruise and drive normal, you can have stock gauges, but when it's time to play the gauges switch. Anyone know how to set this up?

Got jb4 and loving it. I only have kn drop-in and 94 gas. Map 2 is da shit, lose traction at 65mph on wot downshift. So far no problems running map 2 beside shaking hands after some aggressive drives.
Mike, although I'm loving the savagery of map 2, I enjoy a luxury ride of map one. I was just wondering if you could map a custom map targeting best fuel efficiency? |

Map 0: Stock bypass. This is the only map you may use a BT cable with. Map 1: 13psi (suggested for most stock applications) Map 2: 14.5psi (suggested for bolt on mods with 93 octane, close to JB3 map 7) Map 3: Progressive meth (see guide to enable) Map 4: Stock map w/ CAN active. Soon to be our economy map. <--------- Map 6: Custom map. Active but be careful with it. Map 7: 16.5psi. A light weight race map. Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 02-06-2011 at 01:12 PM.. |

Small UPDATE:
Had a good amount of seat time with the JB4 now and it has been flawless thus far. I have done alot of daily driving along with high speed runs and numerous WOT pulls. Car has juss been perfect with no hiccups. I honestly have nothing to complain about at this point. Adaptive PID This isnt the same as full autotuning, but a part of it and it is now enabled on the JB4. "It's an algorithm to adapt the boost control to your cars specific wastegate stiffness, mods, local conditions, etc."-Terry. This has been put in the latest JB4 firmware as a on or off feature. After a few WOT for the PID to adapt to my car. I then went out for some spirited driving. And i can def feel the adaptive PID kicking in and made its change at a few points. Boost comes on even faster now when i push the throttle down. It responds amazingly good, and makes the car feel even faster since it now really kicks the boost in via how much you press the pedal. Without the adaptive PID, the bost would take a slight second and then it would rush in a lil smooth and then feel the hard pull. With the adapted PID for my car For example, during a 40 MPH in second gear, just cruising, i put my foot down and boost just comes on instantly, and pulls HARD. Boost response is just feeling awesome! Really like this. This is the most noticable thing i can tell at the moment. For me, just feels great!! This feature can be turned on or off aswell. Also the car overall pulls harder within the whole power range. Top end feels better for sure and boost after the shift seems to come on harder and more instantly. Can def tell that the adaptive PID adjusted a few things to meet my cars needs, and it feels great. Just amazing how far tuning has come. These little things just changing how good the car feels right when you thought it has gotten good. Honestly with the new great tuning, adaptive PID, and just better power, the JB3 feels and seems like a JB+ , no offense to anyone. CAN integration has really changed the game. Its been said over and over again but it juss keeps getting better. |

ok guys - here's a stupid question.
i just got the JB4 installed and after wide open throttling on Map 1 i immediately felt like getting my wife pregnant. that being said, i will be running Map 1 for about a week and THEN going with Map 2 over the weekend. what's the difference if i were to throw some 104 Octane into my car on Map 2 as opposed to running 104 Octane on Map 7 ?? all i have is the JB4 and DCI's. stock DP's/Exhaust/FMIC. |

running map 2 with 95 or 100 is really nice. though, i never run map 2 unless i have at least 95 in the tank. I've run map 7 with full 100 when I ran against my buddy's e92 M3, but that was a one time thing, and probably won't run 7 again until I put the c@less dps in. I rather be safe than sorry....

ok, so even though i would essentially be running a much higher cotane i would still need to free up some air with the addition of fmic and dp's ??
that makes sense, i just need some confirmation. still have 4gal of 110 left over from my STi lol. |

On jb3 and just dci and ran race gas and 104oct ONCE.... Threw it on map 8 tOo! Not suggested whatsoever but I did.. Ran a 12.6... It's one of those things, do at your own risk... I'm guilty of it
If you saw how disgusting my stock IC with 39k was this weekend, you'd be motivated to replace yours asap..

Anyone else with JB4 notice that boost won't go past 10PSI when the car hasn't been warmed up much?
Then again who else is running it in 20 degree weather.... |
