It's going to be a 190E 2.3 16V that will be turned into an Evolution 2 replica...

So after much thought, and my Volvo getting in an accident and eventually deemed totaled, I have come to a decision to POSSIBLY purchase a somewhat ghetto Merc and restore it (body-wise) into a replica of the famous DTM Evolution 2. For those who don't know it was the arch rival of the e30 M3 during the early 90s during the DTM races in Germany.

I have always loved the shape of this car and finally found one on craiglist and have decided to inspect it at a friends shop early this week.

This is how it stands...

And it will be completely changed and turned into this...

It will be my daily so Blue isn't driven every day.

My question to all of you is... IS THIS BLASPHEMY?!?!?!?!

Looks like someone has a soft spot for touring cars. Where's the sonax and Hugo boss sponsorships? I say do it. It's only blasphemy if you don't do it right. And given what your e90 looks like, I think you'll do alright.

My mom had an 89 2.6. It was originally going to be my first car, but the amount of money required to fix it dissuaded me. It was a blast to drive and I absolutely love the body lines. I say do it.

Make it happen, and when you buy that one of craigslist, pull that front bumper off at the place you buy it and let him keep it as a souviner of what he did to that car.
