So what would the Dinan numbers be withouth the SAE correction?

Well if SAE gives lower numbers, then with your base dyno numbers of 284 whp (using STD 3) I would "guessestimate" the increase would be at least 51 WHP, so total WHP to you would be at least ~335+ WHP and 385 FWHP.

If that is the case then I would be a happy man indeed! I guess I will find out soon enough... I get my car back from the Dinan flash tomorrow and will be confirming on the dyno next saturday. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning...

Even without these figures, the improvement and power will be readily apparent. I give you credit for being so damn patient.

You don't happen to have the afr plotted with this do you? I'm interested in the optimum ratio for a DI engine. Clearly it's been optimized from this flash.

that power increase looks awesome, never lower than stock i like it... except it drops a lot by redline.

With the usual STD correct, he'd probably see another 5whp/5lb-ft.

I have been a longtime viewer of this forum. I have had my 335i since October 2006. I absolutely love the car. I have been very interested in the potential with this car especially coming from an E46 M3. It is amazing to see how close the performance of the E90 335i is to my old car.

After 20,000 miles of blissful driving I decided to go with the Dinan Flash. My days of max power and messing with a piggy back computer are behind me. I must be getting old at the age of 33! Over the years have had a couple WRXs in various states of tune, a supercharged E36 328i, and the M3. I still have a 93 Sentra SE-R with close to 400hp that I will probably never get rid of.

With the 335i, I wanted more power with zero hassle. I am not saying the other products out there always cause problems. It certainly looks like the problems have been few and far between. The power numbers have also been very impressive. I have built a good relationship with my local BMW dealer over the past years as this is my fourth BMW. Thus, I thought the logical step for me would be to purchase the Dinan flash.

As with many others, I was a little leery of the price, not because I couldn't afford it, but because I was worried about the results for paying close to $2000. After having done so, I am very happy with my decision. The car is significantly quicker! The throttle response is slightly different and does take a little getting used to. Well I took the car to the dyno yesterday after having a few stock pulls last Saturday. Here are the results:

Needless to say, I am very pleased with the improvement over stock!! Peak gains of 51hp and 76lb/ft to the wheels. The car is much improved is so many ways! For comparison sake, my stock E46 M3 made 277hp and 234lb/ft. Again, for ME, it was the right purchase. I don't want to mess with the car much at all. Those days are over for me. Take care.

only 316 whp.. u got to be a joke on a dinan reflash. for 2000 = not worth it.

Even Turbo turner make that much of power. it only cost like 500 Bucks.

Even with Terry Juice Box 2. it only cost 400.. about 340= 80 whp gain.

Even with PRocede v2.0.2 i think it would be 350 whp = 90 whp gain

procede is about 1700 with couple issue come with it

WIth Terry juice box2 400 + exhaust borla system = 1000 + 350 BMC air filter. -= 1750 .. u get about 360 whp - 100 whp gain.

just for comparison it seems the SSTT make a little bit less gain in both WHP and WTQ from what i cann see.. anyone care to compare dyno graphs between the two.

using the STD CF, the numbers were in the mid 320s and torque in the 360s.. my questions is why does everyone seem to use STD vs. SAE other than the usual higher numbers.

I thought SAE replaced STD as the norm over 15 years ago??? Shiv, why do you quote STD vs. SAE?? I am curious?

Thanks,

Eric

Wow, I don't even know what that statement means. Let me try and break it down.

Maybe to you, it is not worth it. To me it is. It is truly astonishing how pissed, annoyed, mad, insert any adjective, some people react to horsepower on other people's cars! You did not pay the $2000, I did. I have no problem whatsoever with my purchase.

I guess what matters to you is a number (wheel horsepower) that you can tell people about and that is great! I am over that stage in my life. I don't care about maximum horsepower.

Me? I am thrilled to have an awesome car that looks to have an even better aftermarket future, that drives in extreme comfort, handles exceptionally well, runs mid 13s stock, gets mid 20s mpg, can hold two car seats for my 4 year old boy and 18 month old daughter, and now makes over 350hp and close to 400lb/ft of torque. I could not ask for a better daily driver! Actually, I wish it came with a better stereo! I am also pissed that I didn't order heated seats.

Finally, until I get an LSD for this car, I don't want any more power.

Respectfully,

Eric

Eric don't worry about the comment. Many of the higher numbers posted also showed a higher stock number - Sometimes as much as 20whp more. What is important are the gains. As posted elsewhere it looks like the Dinan is around 20 whp or so less than stage 2 from what I have read. In the big picture of things, that is minimal and really not noticeable.

I think the gains are great. Congrats and ignore the followers.

Do you actually know how to interpolate dyno data or are you just completely technically stupid and letting everyone here know it?

To be honest, neither STD or SAE works well for a modern turbo car that compensates for ambient temp and pressure. But STD usually makes the higher number and tends to be less "bad" when it comes to overcompensating in conditions of extreme temp and baro readings. The Dynojet corrections work reasonably well on naturally aspirated cars and that's about it.

Welcome to the world we know as E90post. Enjoy the Dinan Flash, and you will see the throttle response smooth over the next week. What you have is some great error-free power that you do not have to second guess with your precious cargo. As far as the stereo, if you add a clean sub to the back, you can really make the system sound good, by reducing the bass required by the stock speakers.

Just ignore LACA335i, he has been known to show his on many occasions on this forum, latest being banned from a vendors dyno. I wouldn't go as far as saying he represents the feelings of the people on this forum. Congrats on the Dinan tune, looks great and numbers seem right in line with their marketing numbers and other Dinan customers on this forum.

Enjoy your ride.

...and not to mention a warranty, which no doubt is built into the $2k price but a warranty of some sort nonetheless.

tell me somone mr smart guy.,.

Tell me what procede v2.0.2 gain before and after OEM stock. (WHP) / Torque
Tell me what Turbo Tuner Gain before and after OEM stock. (WHP) / torque
Tell me what XEDE gain before and after oem stock. (WHP) / torque
Tell me what Rdsport gain before and after oem stock. (WHP) / torque
Tell me what DInan gain before and after OEM Stock (WHP) / Torque

Maybe im off a little bit on the WHP and torque before and after OEM stock on each of the Piggyback chip offer to us.

Here is the question is it worth to get dinan just to gain a little bit.
EVen TT piggyback make the same WHP and Torque as DInan . TT only cost like 500. .. TT so far does not have issue unlike procede . However, TT only make little of power than PRocede v2.0.2. I still love my PRocede.
