BMW of Sterling, Pinching the Pennies

So BMW of Sterling no longer gives free flowers after a car wash as advertised in their brochures. Not an issue for me as I don't like my car being scratched up, but some probably find the flowers nice to bring home to a wife or GF. (Oh! how sweet!)

Then they cut the free donuts & pastries and started charging 25-35 cents for flavored coffee drinks.

So what's next? Mostly likely the free sodas will be gone. Charge-by-the-minute wifi service? Dodge Neon loaners instead of BMWs even for dealership customers? Maybe pay toilets like at the bus station?

I'd be fine with giving up these perks as long as the labor fees were also cut, but doubt that will ever happen.

I got free coffee today, but I noticed the pastries weren't there. I figured I was just there too early (right at 7am).

They washed my car. I forgot to say "don't wash it." They did a fine enough job. I need to take it to shim soon anyway. One thing I didn't like is they must have used some sort of scent stuff in the air vents. It smelled too "lemony fresh" inside. It used to smell like new car, even though it is 9 or 10 months old. Looks like it's time for more Zaino leather treatment and Meguiars QID.

I have been waiting until I put on my summer tires, because I will want you to Zaino the rims, too.

But since it is taking too long to get the Wurth in stock, my 162s still are not painted. I'm thinking I'll just have you do it with my existing winter rims and tires. What is your schedule this week and next? I will need claybar and 3 coats of Zaino for sure. I may need buffing, too -- my car has a few etching-type marks from either bird crap or sap or something that will need some attention.

BTW, all this pollen is driving me nuts. I park my car outside at night, and in the morning, I have a fine coat of pollen on it. When will it end?

Tell me about it. My car is basically spotless save for a fine layer of pollen/dust. Hey Shim, can I get a complimentary followup dusting off?

No need to splurge like that, just get the VW buggy and you get a built-in flower vase + fresh flowers whenever you go in for service.

Yeah, regular coffee is free but not the lattes, mocha drinks, etc.

I always tell the SA to not wash the car and also put a sign on the dash that says "NO WASH!!!" Maybe I should write it in Spanish?

They cut off the free sodas now. There's a big house plant where the mini fridge used to be.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Actually, I never knew about the free sodas.

I was out in Ashburn on Monday for meetings, and I just realized how incredibly close BMW of Sterling is to the office out there. If they still had the free sodas, I might make it my lunch stop.
