My exhaust got loud today...

So I installed my BMW Performance Exhaust a couple weeks ago. The clamps holding the new and old piping together were leaking from a poor cut.
This past weekend I fixed the leak, and all was good.
I was driving the car and I was happy, but the exhaust isn't very audible in terms of back pressure.
Today I was leaving work and my car sounded louder than it has. The pops from the back pressure were louder, and I was fairly happy/excited thinking my exhaust magically broke in and it was going to sound like that from now on.
I went to go take some pictures because the excitement of enjoying the sound got to me and I saw this...
From rough driving and the bumps of driving in NJ after winter, the muffler popped out of the clamp holding it with the new piping. I slapped it in, took it home, and fixed the clamp... Now my car is back to being quiet and the back pressure can't be heard anymore.
Once the exhaust is actually broken in, will it be louder than it is? (I can get an audio tomorrow so you guys can tell where it stands)
Thanks guys,
Alex

My PE can hardly be heard with the windows up. With the windows down it's audible but I could stand for it to be 25% louder. I've got around 3-4K miles on it. I've read aFe or Supersprint midpipes will increase the volume with little to no drone.

Thanks
I guess I'll just get used to the quiet sound for now. I thought about looking for a fun car (something with a very large aftermarket) and keeping this one as a daily with some kick, but I may look into fabbing a straight pipe after I practice welding lol

After a thousand miles or so, maybe two thousand, mine did get noticeably louder. I say noticeable, because I can tell there is definitely a difference, but I am talking a maybe 15% increase in volume from where it was initially. The pops didn't seem to get any more pronounced though.

The PE is definitely there, but it's not quite as loud as typical aftermarket cat-back systems. These cars are so well insulated from road noise though, that it's hard to hear it inside the car. Let a friend drive your car while you stand outside and you'll see that it's certainly not a QUIET exhaust by any means... well, if you actually give it some throttle, that is (which is how it should be IMO).

You guys should by my aFe front pipes! More pops and volume!

Mine is used (like 10000 miles used) and suddenly yesterday it is popping and crackling much more than it has since I installed it some weeks ago. I am chalking it up to hard driving, but I do have some fuel injector cleaner in my tank and I'm about ready for a fill-up.
