Fuel Pumps are in?

My SA just called and said that the fuel pump arrived and that I should expect it to be repaired by tomorrow. Has anyone else heard the same news or do you think that they took it from another car?

They are going to be installing my free clear bra today or tomorrow also.

I just stopped by my dealership (Shelly BMW, Buena Park)at 7:00am today. SA said the pumps are not in yet and are still on backorder. He said there is also another 335i that has been there for about a week for the same problem, just wondering if its anyone on here?

So the fact that nobody is saying that the fuel pumps are in is making me really wonder where they are getting this fuel pump??? Do you think I should ask or just be happy that I am getting it replaced.

3 weeks..or is it 4.. honestly I don't remember either. Its been a while. My SA says there's still no word on when my fuel pump will arrive. If your pump is the new and revised one, then you're the first to get it! But better check with your SA to make sure which pump it is. If its the old pump, sad to say, your car WILL fail again. Good luck and please do keep us updated! Btw, if there's anyway you can get a picture of the new pump next to the old pump, that'll be sweet. and Try and get a picture of the part number of your new pump! Thanks buddy!

A revised pump is not available yet. All cars with pump failures are getting the same pump as a replacement

I will be beyond mad if they replace this pump with the exact same version that broke down on me. I will never be able to trust this car again and if it does break down I will be so upset. At that point I think I will just make sure I have all of the documents in order to pursue a lemon law case. I have never owned/leased a car that I didnt trust.

No, the pumps are not in, they are dead

You will see, BMW will fix the problems. M3 E46 owners had to wait 1 1/2 years until the engine problem had been fixed

Yesterday was four weeks for me. The dealer says they have absolutely no idea at all when the replacemment pumps will be in. I cannot believe how fuc#ed up this situation is. I have an '04 Cayenne S with 50k miles that has NEVER been in the shop except for oil changes (and I thought I was taking a leap of faith when I bought that one new!). BMW dropped the ball big time on this one.

Make sure to ask if you got a revised pump or another one that will fail.

If nothing else, get us the part number.

I will make sure I get the information. I have a bad feeling that they replaced it with one from another car and that I will have problems down the road.

My service advisor told me that they are still currently replacing bad pumps with the old ones to get people back on the road and I should expect a recall as soon as the revised pumps become available.

Yes that is the old part number. Not sure if BMW has a new p/n for the updated pump but the bulletin calls for the part dept. to order that part number you listed.
