I will try to pass with DP fix and secondaries ONLY....if for some act of God I pass I will be stoked, I have a set of stock DP's on the way, so worst case I re-install the stock DP's.

Ah man that sucks, no way you'll pass with c@tless downpipes on. My smog check isn't until October so hopefully it's phased out by then!

im a smog tech in l.a. if your cats are in place and all oxygen sensors are not tampered with or relocated you should pass. everything after the cat and post 02s is not smog realted but i have seen a few people fail for it :/ idiot techs....
engine wise you can do whatever the hell you want as long as it comes with a c.a.r.b. e.o. approval number on it |

(honestly most dumbass techs dont even look for the top ones tho simply because they are hard to see from the top of the vehicle....) but u didnt hear it from me lol id say give it a shot but if you fail one time it will much harder to pass another time because the techs get a popup on their screen that says "the car has failed due to....." before they start the test. so they become more wary of failing the car again for the same thing... |

The place I went to was VERY chill on Visual. I re-installed my cats and ran my Vishnu Flashed ECU + Procede on Map 0 and passed with flying colors. I even left my DCI's and the guys didn't care.

So to confirm, all you did was install stock dp's and went back to map 0? Did you run regular gas or e85? I'm having issues with my o2 sensor. Any idea on how to fix? |

Every place is different though, and some guys won't even bother to check if everything looks fairly stock. It will take a while for all the stations to get updated with the new equipment though, so most will still have the rollers and sniff test until later in the year. |

I ran regular 91 on map 0. I am not sure how to fix your o2 sensor issue, other than replacing them.

There isn't one, they are not rolling out the new systems until the fall from what I have been told by two SMOG stations.

I also have an unused DP fix if anyone wants to turn CanClear off. This should show readiness in your O2's with Catless downpipes. I am in SF

So I just went in for smog with my procede in and downpipe cats removed. However for whatever reason they could not get a signal for the RPMs it would be intermittent - is that the procede causing that?

No that is because the station you went to has not updated their software to the can obd set up so it wont pick up signal and this is especially true for bmws
