ST ~600 WTQ Wheel & Tire for 60+ MPH
I own an N54 6MT coupe, single turbo with ~600 wheel torque. Exclusively used for roll racing. I don't yet have an LSD.
I'm looking to upgrade wheels and tires - I highly prefer the look of 19s vs smaller sizes. Am I dreaming in thinking that a 19 inch wheel + tire + LSD setup will hook at "60 roll" speeds? E.g.: 19" style 359s with R888Rs. What about 40 mph? |

I have an E92 with 620+wtq I run 19's with Toyo R888R's. They hook very well at 60mph when above 60-70% ish tread. Once the tread gets lower they tend to spin more. 40mph you're definitely going to spin a bit, but if you heat them up good before it hooks good. I also have an LSD. I replace these tires roughly every 5k miles.

I have kumho V70a medium compound 285 18s all round and have a setup that runs 10s @131 and dead hook. I am about to replace them with Nitto NT555R drag radials on the rear as I am going to be roll racing more this year.
Like the r888r the downside of kumhos is heat cycles more than tread wear. Everytime you the take the car for a bit of a drive you are potentially adding a heat cycle which will eventually reduce the tyres grip . V70a is a really good all round R comp. Works in the wet , straightine grip and corners . 50 treadwear though. Nitto NT555r are ok in the wet (much better than r888r but, not as good as V70a) and with the right air pressure are pretty decent drag tyres and will handle alot of power. Roll races is no prob. |
