Try it with one where it's been removed. You get used to the sloppy clutch, but I'm used to a Porsche clutch so the sponge-o-matic clutch sporting CDV is very noticeable. I also live in Seattle, which is just as hilly as SF, so I'm sensitive to clutch behavior as I'm always stopped on a steep grade.

Well after coils, I was able to chirp it a few times. The top end is even stronger now and low end torque has improved substantially. I think there is still a bit lacking but I know the intake side is all good and now so is ignition. This week I will be getting the injectors flushed professionally using special equipment. Probably a waste of money, but it makes me feel good lol.

My e46 ZHP had he CDV it's whole life and I could chirp second all day and every day well into 300,000 km still on the original clutch.

Personally I don't buy into the CDV delete theory for those reasons.

After the professional injector cleaning and ignition coils this engine as running great! Much smoother than before (very noticeable after injectors,) and tons of a torque. I think my 2nd gear chirp might be related to the DSC being more active than the e46 was or a weakening clutch/ CDV.

Quite happy with performance now but looking for a tune and maybe some intake mods for another 10hp or so. 😈

No real reason, just because it’s fun.

Put in some 94 and took the 330 out for a spin. Chirping second is easy now, works every time!

One thing to keep in mind is that the e90 has this soft-redline where it cuts power gradually. I've found that shifting around 6500 or a tad earlier works better than closer to 7K.

You can get a tune to remove soft redline. With BPC tune, my redline is 7500rpm and i just LOVE it! Car pulls strongly all the way to it. In 2nd gear it tops out at 70mph.

I would love to but I can’t justify 675 on my second car especially given the USD:CAD conversion being what it is today. Hoping hass and terra come up with a more affordable tune. See the cloned my msv70 dme thread for info on that project.

330i is 5.6 - 6.0 seconds, not 7. But thanks for playing!

Sounds about right. The 330i has a different intake manifold/transmission/exhaust
