I looked at my manual but I can't seem to find the same warning light in the manual. It's red looks like "S" ontop of another "S" over an icon of a car. Have y'all seen that?

Sure. It is a reminder for your state inspection (assuming your state has one.)

If the symbol has a date underneath it like 1/2011, the ceb is correct it is the State inspection warning.

Correct. It could be for safety inspection ( SS symbol towards the front of the car) or emissions inspection symbol towards the rear). BMW describes it as "Roadworthiness Test"
